8/4–Start Your Day Off Right Series

Quote:

And in the end it is not the years in your life that count, it’s the life in your years.” – Abraham Lincoln Morning

Story:

Today is not Thanksgiving, but it is certainly a day to be Thankful! But I ask is Thanksgiving the only day of Thanks?

I suggest that you take your cell phone and set an alarm three times a day, as a reminder of how good we have it, especially in this country!

If you didn’t sleep in a car last night, or had something to eat, or had a little change in a dish somewhere…. then , you ought to be Thankful.

A taker may eat better, but a Giver will be happier and sleep better!!

Think of other people who would gladly swap places with you. You’d better hang on to what you’ve got and Be Thankful.

 As Are

Scripture:

James 4:14-15

Whereas ye know not what shall be on the morrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapour, that appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth away. For that ye ought to say, If the Lord will, we shall live, and do this, or that.

Humor:

I heard a story about a man touring a mental institution. The tour guide told the man that there were five floors there and the further up you went the worse off the patients were.

On the first floor the patients were only mildly ill, but by the time you got to the fifth floor they wee severely ill. On the first floor was a man staring out into space muttering Lulu, Lulu, Lulu. The man touring asked what was wrong. The tour guide said that twenty-five years ago the man was left at the altar by Lulu on their wedding day. The man said that he could understand how that would be hard.

When they finally arrived at the fifth floor that was a man muttering Lulu but more uncontrollable than the first man. The man touring wanted to know what was going on. The tour guide said that twenty-five years ago that man had indeed married Lulu!
