12/1–Start Your Day Off Right Series

Quote:

Story:

12/1–S—A very old lady looked in the mirror one morning. She had three remaining hairs on her head, and being a positive soul, she said, “I think I’ll braid my hair today.” So she braided her three hairs, and she had a great day.

Some days later, looking in the mirror one morning, preparing for her day, she saw that she had only two hairs remaining. “Hmm, two hairs… I fancy a centre parting today.” She duly parted her two hairs, and as ever, she had a great day.

A week or so later, she saw that she had just one hair left on her head. “One hair huh…,” she mused, “I know, a pony-tail will be perfect.” And again she had a great day.

The next morning she looked in the mirror. She was completely bald.

“Finally bald huh,” she said to herself, “How wonderful! I won’t have to waste time doing my hair any more..”

Scripture:

Philippians 4:8

Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.

Humor:

Never give up as Churchill once valiantly said.

The story is told of a spry lady who lived in a retirement home. She spotted an older and distinguished gentleman who was a new resident seated in the dining hall.

She promptly sat down in front of him and attempted to get his attention with warm smiles. She saw a husband in the making.

Growing uncomfortable he asked, “May I help you?” She shot back, “You look just like my third husband. The wave of your hair, your countenance, the look of your hands.”

Now very uncomfortable he said, “Now, ma’am, how many times did you say you have been married?”

She smiled and said, “Twice.” Never give up hope.
