February 14 is often known as a day about love—cards, flowers, candy, and special dinners. But today is also a powerful reminder of something much deeper and eternal: God is love.
The Bible tells us plainly in 1 John 4:8, “Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love.” Notice it doesn’t say God has love or God shows love. It says God is love. Love is not just something God does—it is who He is at His very core.
Think about that for a moment.
The love that created the universe…
The love that formed you with purpose…
The love that sent Jesus to restore hope…
That same love is available to you today.
Sometimes we think love is only about feelings. But God’s love is bigger than feelings. God’s love is patient when we fail, strong when we are weak, steady when life feels uncertain, and present even when we don’t recognize it.
You may not always feel loved by people.
You may not always feel understood.
You may not always feel valued.
But God’s love never changes.
Romans 8:38–39 reminds us that nothing can separate us from the love of God—not trouble, not hardship, not fear, not mistakes from our past. That means on your best day and your worst day, God’s love remains the same.
Realizing that changes how we live.
When you understand you are loved by God:
You don’t have to prove your worth. You don’t have to live in fear of rejection. You can love others more freely because you’re already filled with His love.
Today is a perfect day to let God’s love flow through you. Call someone. Encourage someone. Forgive someone. Smile at someone. Sometimes the smallest act of love can be the biggest blessing in someone else’s life.
Remember this today and every day:
You are loved.
You are chosen.
You are never alone.
And when life gets heavy, come back to this simple, powerful truth:
God is love. And His love is for you.
