Scripture:
“Be still before the Lord and wait patiently for Him.” — Psalm 37:7
Patience is one of the hardest virtues to practice. We live in a world of fast food, instant messages, and overnight deliveries. Everything moves quickly, and we often expect our lives to move just as fast.
But life—and especially the most meaningful parts of life—rarely happen instantly.
A farmer doesn’t plant a seed in the morning and harvest a crop in the afternoon. There is a season of waiting. Beneath the soil, something is happening even when you can’t see it. Roots are growing. Life is forming.
Our lives are much the same way.
Sometimes we pray and the answer doesn’t come right away. We work hard and success seems slow. We try to improve ourselves, but progress feels gradual. In those moments, it’s easy to become discouraged.
But patience reminds us that God is still working even when we can’t see immediate results.
Think about the strongest oak tree. It didn’t grow overnight. Years of wind, rain, sunshine, and seasons shaped it into something strong and steady. The waiting was part of the process.
The same is true for you.
Patience builds character. It strengthens faith. It teaches us trust. When we learn to wait with the right spirit, we discover that waiting seasons are not wasted seasons.
They are growing seasons.
So if today feels like a time of waiting in your life, don’t lose heart. Stay faithful. Stay hopeful. Keep moving forward one step at a time.
Your harvest will come.
A Little Smile for Today:
Someone once said, “Lord, give me patience… and I want it right now!”
We may laugh, but we’ve all felt that way!
Closing Thought:
Patience isn’t simply about waiting longer; it’s about trusting deeper.
