Church Signs:

The church is our SPIRITUAL ARK; you get things in church YOU CAN’T GET ANYWHERE ELSE!

Story:

Filling up on junk– If I am coming home to a good home cooked meal, how hungry will I be if I stop off at a convenience stop and have a soft drink, chips, and a candy bar?  Probably not very hungry at all.  That’s why we can’t learn some of the good things of life, we are too full of the trivial, meaningless things to get to absorb the better.  I’m like a dried old sponge, ready to soak it up.  If a sponge is so dry that it is brittle and ready for the garbage, just a little water can bring it back to life.

Garbage—Excuses are for the most part is like garbage.  We think our excuse is different and bona fide.  It is like the garbage in my office.  If you ask what do I have in the can.  I don’t attempt to itemize it–an apple core, a banana peeling.  I just say garbage.

Scripture:

Amos 8:11

Behold, the days come, saith the Lord GOD,

that I will send a famine in the land,

not a famine of bread, nor a thirst for water,

but of hearing the words of the LORD:

Can You Spare A Minute Or So 5/26?

Can You Spare A Minute 5/26?

5/26–A brother was conducting a Bible study with a student who failed to put into practice what he was learning. One day, after the study, our brother mentioned to the student that he had bought a book on health and fitness with the promise: “Become as fit as a marine or  in sixteen weeks.”

“You know,” he lamented, “I’ve had the book more than 16 weeks, I’ve read it more than three times already, and I’m STILL not as fit as a marine. In fact I’m just as unfit as I ever was.”

“Have you been doing the exercises from the book?” the Bible student asked.

“No,” the brother admitted.

“Then how do you expect to get anywhere with the book if you just read it, but don’t do what it says …”

The brother could tell by the way the tone of the student’s voice changed during the middle of his question that he had got the point!

If A Dog Was The Teacher

Remember , if a dog was the teacher you would learn things like:

When loved ones come home, always run to greet them.

Never pass up the opportunity to go for a joyride.

Allow the experience of fresh air and the wind in your face to be pure ecstasy.

Take naps. Stretch before rising.

Run, romp, and play daily.

Thrive on attention and let people touch you.

Avoid biting when a simple growl will do.

On warm days, stop to lie on your back on the grass..

On hot days, drink lots of water and lie under a shady tree.

When you’re happy, dance around and wag your entire body.

Delight in the simple joy of a long walk.

Be loyal.

Never pretend to be something you’re not.

If what you want lies buried, dig until you find it.

When someone is having a bad day, be silent, sit close by, and nuzzle them gently.

ENJOY EVERY MOMENT

   OF EVERY DAY

This is not my composition but I thought you might like it if I shared it!

5/25–God Can Handle It

Story:

Perspective–seasoned by experience, you begin to understand what not to worry about. So that you can put your efforts into that which is productive and not in that which will energize your enemies by focusing on them and what they are trying to do.

If you start speaking to them you give life to them and make them bigger by focusing on them. You need to ignore what they are doing, and keep on doing what you are called to do. Because whatever you put your attention on you give life to. You make something or somebody important the moment you give it or them attention.

Whatever you give attention to you make important. If you want to kill something, ignore it. A lot of time Jesus answered them not a word. Let the silence settle.

But ye, beloved, building up yourselves on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Ghost,

Beware How You Use Your Tongue

James 3: 5-8. Even so the tongue is a little member, and boasteth great things. Behold, how great a matter a little fire kindleth! And the tongue is a fire, a world of iniquity: so is the tongue among our members, that it defileth the whole body, and setteth on fire the course of nature; and it is set on fire of hell. For every kind of beasts, and of birds, and of serpents, and of things in the sea, is tamed, and hath been tamed of mankind: But the tongue can no man tame; it is an unruly evil, full of deadly poison.

Full of deadly poison. Friend if you saw a rattlesnake would you embrace it. No, I’m sure you would back off.

So, it is with people that don’t control their tongue and use it for criticism. People start backing up from you like they would that deadly snake. A deadly snake can kill you and so can a man with his criticism. One word from a parent to a child can be so powerful and have so much negative effect.

One word from a parent to a child can be so powerful and have such a positive effect! Oh yes, no doubt about it, I’d rather be a builder upper than a tearer downer!in peace of them that make peace.

Develop Your Spiritual Senses And Stay Out Of Spiritual Intensive Care

Of whom we have many things to say, and hard to be uttered, seeing ye are dull of hearing.
For when for the time ye ought to be teachers, ye have need that one teach you again which be the first principles of the oracles of God; and are become such as have need of milk, and not of strong meat. For every one that useth milk is unskilful in the word of righteousness: for he is a babe. But strong meat belongeth to them that are of full age, even those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil.

Quote:

5/24–You must find the place inside yourself where nothing is impossible!

Story:

Someday Isle Is A Lonely Place

Someday I’ll do this or that.

I wonder how many has been marooned and stuck on Someday I’ll?

Like Tom Hanks in the movie Castaway.

The cemetery is one of the richest places in the world. It has more riches that Fort Knox. Songs never sung, speeches never delivered, love never revealed, and talents never used.

I want to do, as the motivational speaker Les Brown encouraged, and to “Live Full And Die Empty”

I do not want to take anything with me I want to use it all. I don’t want to die never letting my friends and loved ones know how much I truly cared.

I want to be like a wet cloth that you take and wring very drop of water out until there is nothing else left inside!

Scripture:

2 Corinthians 6:2

(For he saith, I have heard thee in a time accepted, and in the day of salvation have I succoured thee: behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation.)

Can You Spare A Minute Or So 5/24?

If you can’t find five minutes, can you spare two or three?

5/24-Can You Spare A Minute?

A young boy while visiting his grandfather in the country, found a small land turtle and promptly attempted to examine it.

The  turtle promptly closed its shell like a vise. Where upon the boy seized a stick and tried in vain to pry the shell open.

Observing the boys actions, the grandfather quickly interrupted. “That’s not the way,” he said. “Let me show you how.”

Taking the turtle into the house, he set it on the hearth. In a few minutes the creature began to grow warm, stuck out it’s  head and feet and started to crawl.

Turtles are something like people” said the old man. “Never try to force a fellow into anything—-Just warm him up a little ordinary human kindness, and more than likely he’ll come your way.
