3/3–Start Your Day Off Right Series

Quote:

3/3–Do you have a mind full of peace,  simply fill it with peace it’s as simple as that!

Story:

3/3–One day a little boy complained that his new shoes were hurting his feet. I looked down at his feet. No wonder they hurt. His shoes were on the wrong feet! When I changed them he felt better and was soon the liveliest little fellow in the group. Sometimes our lives seem all sour and stale. We find fault with everyone around us. We need to stop and take a good look at our feet. If we were wearing the same shoes the other fellow wears, would we be happy?

Scripture:

Matthew 5:9

Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God.

What I Learned About Seeking God From Esther

Now it came to pass on the third day, that Esther put on her royal apparel, and stood in the inner court of the king’s house, over against the king’s house: and the king sat upon his royal throne in the royal house, over against the gate of the house. And it was so, when the king saw Esther the queen standing in the court, that she obtained favour in his sight: and the king held out to Esther the golden sceptre that was in his hand. So Esther drew near, and touched the top of the sceptre.

3/2—Start Your Day Off Right Series

Quote:

3/2–The sign of a beautiful person is they always see the beauty in others

Story:

3/2–A little girl had been told many times by a childless old couple that if she would come and live with them, they would get her everything she wanted-a pony and cart, a piano, and the like.

One day when the couple had been particularly urgent, her father said, “Don’t you think you had better go with them?”

The little girl looked at him in alarm and cried, “Why, Daddy, don’t you want me?” “Yes,” he replied, “but I can’t give you very much, and they will give you everything nice.” “But I wouldn’t have you!” she said as she snuggled up to him.

Scripture:

Philippians 4:8

Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.

Humor:

3/2–The photographer for a national magazine was assigned to get photos of a great forest fire. Smoke at the scene hampered him and he asked his home office to hire a plane.

Arrangements were made and he was told to go at once to a nearby airport, where the plane would be waiting.

When he arrived at the airport, a plane was warming up near the runway. He jumped in with his equipment and yelled, “Let’s go! Let’s go!” The pilot swung the plane into the wind and they soon were in the air. “Fly over the north side of the fire,” yelled the photographer, “and make three or four low level passes.” “Why?” asked the pilot. “Because I’m going to take pictures,” cried the photographer. “I’m a photographer and photographers take pictures!”

After a pause the pilot said, “You mean you’re not the instructor?”

A Wonderful Example Of Multiplication

Multiplication—I heard a story about a man who had a flat tire late one night, but didn’t have a jack.  Another man, who had a jack stopped and changed his tire.  The man who received the help wanted to know how much he owed.

The man with jack said that he owed nothing. He went on to say that the way to repay was to find 10 people who need help and repay by helping them. Now that is multiplication to the highest degree!!

3/1–Start Your Day Off Right Series

Quote:

3/1–One problem with gazing too frequently into the past is that we may turn around to find the future has run out on us

Story:

3/1–Creatures of Custom

As a boy in the Middle West, I used to amuse myself by holding a stick across a gateway that the sheep had to pass through.

After the first few sheep had jumped over the stick, I took it away; but all the other sheep leaped through the gateway over an imaginary barrier.

The only reason for their jumping was that those in front had jumped.

The sheep is not the only animal with that tendency. Almost all of us are prone to do what others are doing, to believe what others are believing, to follow, without question, the testimony of prominent men.

Scripture:

Philippians 3:12-14

Not as though I had already attained, either were already perfect: but I follow after, if that I may apprehend that for which also I am apprehended of Christ Jesus. Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before, I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.

Humor:

3/1–A GOLF JOKE Pastor Teefer found himself wondering whether there were any golf courses in heaven.

He even began to ask the question in his prayers. One day, in answer to his prayers, he received a direct answer from on high.

Yes,” said the heavenly messenger, “there are many excellent golf courses in heaven. The greens are always in first-class condition, the weather is always perfect, and you always play with the nicest people.”

Oh, thank you,” responded Preacher Teefer. “That really is marvelous news.” “Yes, isn’t it?” replied the messenger. “And we’ve got you down for a foursome next Saturday.”

3/1– Can You Spare A Minute?

the branches.

On the other hand, evergreens droop with the burden until it slides off.

So, too, we should not let burdens break us down.   Bend a little perhaps but not break.
