Are You An Eagle Or A Chicken?

Is 40:28-31. Hast thou not known? hast thou not heard,
that the everlasting God, the LORD,
the Creator of the ends of the earth,
fainteth not, neither is weary?
there is no searching of his understanding.
He giveth power to the faint;
and to them that have no might he increaseth strength.
Even the youths shall faint and be weary,
and the young men shall utterly fall:
But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength;
they shall mount up with wings as eagles;
they shall run, and not be weary;
and they shall walk, and not faint.

3/27–Don’t Compete

Story:

Are You a Leader? A young girl was filling out an application for college when she came across the question: Are you a leader? She thought for a moment and then decided that she had better be totally honest.

Her answer was “No.” She was afraid that because of that answer, the college would reject her application. However, one month later she received a letter back from the school that read: “Dear Candidate, We would like to inform you that this year we have already reviewed more than a thousand applications. To date, there will be some 1,322 new leaders attending our program next year.

We are in the pleasant position to inform you that we have accepted your application because we felt it was imperative that leaders have at least one follower.”

Scripture:

2 Corinthians 10:12

For we dare not make ourselves of the number, or compare ourselves with some that commend themselves: but they measuring themselves by themselves, and comparing themselves among themselves, are not wise.

You Could Have Been Big But You Let Little Get Hold If You

Matthew 6:9-15. After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen. For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you: But if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.

3/26–Everyday!

Story:

The story is told of Franklin Roosevelt, who often endured long receiving lines at the White House.

He complained that no one really paid any attention to what was said.

One day, during a reception, he decided to try an experiment. To each person who passed down the line and shook his hand, he murmured, “I murdered my grandmother this morning.” The guests responded with phrases like, “Marvelous! Keep up the good work. We are proud of you. God bless you, sir.”

It was not till the end of the line, while greeting the ambassador from Bolivia, that his words were actually heard. Nonplussed, the ambassador leaned over and whispered, “I’m sure she had it coming.”

Scripture:

Revelation 2:7

He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches; To him that overcometh will I give to eat of the tree of life, which is in the midst of the paradise of God.

Story:

3/25–The story is told of a man who made every effort to be a great father to his young son, Billy. He took his son to a carnival with four of his friends.

As any dad would do, he pulled a wad of cash out of his pocket and purchased dozens of tickets for the carnival rides. At every ride, five little hands were thrust into the air to claim the required ticket.

At the end of the day, the father noticed a sixth hand protruding into the air hoping for a ticket. The father asked, “Son, who are you?”

The little fellow replied, “I’m your son’s new friend and I know him. He said that if I know your son, I get a ticket.” Of course, he got a ticket.

Ah – such wisdom.

When you know the Son of the Father, you get whatever the Father has. He has given us eternal life – because we know His Son.

Got your ticket?

Scripture:

Galatians 4:6-7

And because ye are sons, God hath sent forth the Spirit of his Son into your hearts, crying, Abba, Father. Wherefore thou art no more a servant, but a son; and if a son, then an heir of God through Christ.
