Treat Children Good, They Will Never Forget

A Creative Housekeeper Ritz-Carlton hotel received a letter from a customer who stayed in New York with his family, wife and daughter.

His letter was about the behavior of the housekeeper, which astonished him. Having spent their day sight-seeing around the city, the family returned to their room.

There, Anna, their daughter, complained that she couldn’t find her teddy bear. They searched and found the teddy bear hidden in a cupboard, with a chocolate bar clasped in its paws.

The next day, the teddy bear was missing again. The girl found it under her bed, next to another chocolate bar.

Each day of their stay, the family would go out touring and the girl could not wait to return to their room to discover the new hiding place of the teddy bear, a game with the housekeeping lady that the family never actually met.

As the man wrote in his letter, “That was the best part of our daughter’s stay in your hotel!

12/26–Start Your Day Off Right Series

Quote:

  • Respect all. Fear none.”
  • The only discipline that lasts is self-discipline.”

Story:

12/26–A group of highly established alumni got together to visit their old university professor. The conversation among them soon turned into complaints about their stressful work and life. The professor went to his kitchen and returned with a large pot of coffee and an assortment of cups, including porcelain, plastic, glass, crystal, some plain-looking, some expensive and some exquisite.

The professor told them to help themselves to the coffee.

After all the students had a cup of coffee in their hands, the professor said: “ Did you notice all the nice looking cups are taken and only the plain inexpensive ones are left behind. While it is normal for everyone to want the best for themselves, but that is the source of problems and stress in your life.

The cup itself adds no quality to the coffee. In most of the cases, it’s just more expensive and hides what we drink.”, the professor continued.

What  all of you really wanted was coffee, not the cup, but all of you consciously went for good looking expensive cups and then began eyeing on each other’ s cups.”

Let’s consider that life is the coffee and the jobs, houses, cars, things, money and position are the cups.  The type of cup we have, does not define or change the quality of our lives.”

Moral: Sometimes we fail to enjoy the coffee by concentrating only on the cup we have. Being happy doesn’t mean everything’s around you is perfect. It means you’ve decided to see beyond the imperfections and find peace. And the peace lies within you, not in your career, jobs, or the houses you have.

Scripture:

1 Corinthians 12:22-25

Nay, much more those members of the body, which seem to be more feeble, are necessary: And those members of the body, which we think to be less honourable, upon these we bestow more abundant honour; and our uncomely parts have more abundant comeliness. For our comely parts have no need: but God hath tempered the body together, having given more abundant honour to that part which lacked: That there should be no schism in the body; but that the members should have the same care one for another.

Flee from all evil!

And she said, The Philistines be upon thee, Samson. And he awoke out of his sleep, and said, I will go out as at other times before, and shake myself. And he wist not that the LORD was departed from him.
But the Philistines took him, and put out his eyes, and brought him down to Gaza, and bound him with fetters of brass; and he did grind in the prison house.

The Same Joke Or The Same Complaint Every Day Gets Old Fast

12/25–The Same Joke One day in the village, there was a gathering of lots of people around a wise man. Most of them complained to the wise man about a problem, which, the wise man had heard again many times in the past. The wise man was silent for a moment.

Then he told the villagers a joke and the whole audience roared in laughter. After a couple of minutes, he started telling them another joke. But it was the same joke, again. When he finished, only a few of the villagers smiled.

Then he told the same joke for the third time, and no one laughed anymore. The wise man smiled and told the villagers, “You cannot laugh at the same joke over and over. So why are you always crying about the same problem? Why are you always angry about the same problem?”

Scripture:

Luke 2:6-14

And so it was, that, while they were there, the days were accomplished that she should be delivered. And she brought forth her firstborn son, and wrapped him in swaddling clothes, and laid him in a manger; because there was no room for them in the inn. And there were in the same country shepherds abiding in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night. And, lo, the angel of the Lord came upon them, and the glory of the Lord shone round about them: and they were sore afraid. And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people. For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord. And this shall be a sign unto you; Ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger. And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God, and saying,

Glory to God in the highest,

and on earth peace,

good will toward men.

Free Your Mind To See More Clearly

And he cometh to Bethsaida; and they bring a blind man unto him, and besought him to touch him. And he took the blind man by the hand, and led him out of the town; and when he had spit on his eyes, and put his hands upon him, he asked him if he saw ought. And he looked up, and said, I see men as trees, walking. After that he put his hands again upon his eyes, and made him look up: and he was restored, and saw every man clearly.

Look Ahead, Don’t Dwell On The Past

12/24–It is like driving forward while looking in the rearview mirror.

You may move ahead a little, but sooner or later you’re going to crash.”

Excerpt From: Harrell, Keith. “Attitude is Everything

Genesis 13:10-13

And Lot lifted up his eyes, and beheld all the plain of Jordan, that it was well watered every where, before the Lord destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah, even as the garden of the Lord, like the land of Egypt, as thou comest unto Zoar. Then Lot chose him all the plain of Jordan; and Lot journeyed east: and they separated themselves the one from the other. Abram dwelled in the land of Canaan, and Lot dwelled in the cities of the plain, and pitched his tent toward Sodom. But the men of Sodom were wicked and sinners before the Lord exceedingly.
