A little boy was overheard talking to himself as he strode through his backyard, baseball cap in place and toting ball and bat.
“I’m the greatest baseball player in the world,” he said with pride. Then he tossed the ball in the air, swung and missed. Undaunted, he picked up the ball; he threw it into the air and said to himself, “Yes, I’m the greatest player ever!” He swung at the ball again. Again, he missed. He paused a moment to examine bat and ball carefully. Then once again he threw the ball into the air and said, “I’m the greatest baseball player who ever lived.” He swung the bat hard and again missed the ball. “Wow!” he exclaimed. “What a pitcher!””

This is a true saying, If a man desire the office of a bishop, he desireth a good work. A bishop then must be blameless, the husband of one wife, vigilant, sober, of good behaviour, given to hospitality, apt to teach; Not given to wine, no striker, not greedy of filthy lucre; but patient, not a brawler, not covetous; One that ruleth well his own house, having his children in subjection with all gravity; (For if a man know not how to rule his own house, how shall he take care of the church of God?) Not a novice, lest being lifted up with pride he fall into the condemnation of the devil. Moreover he must have a good report of them which are without; lest he fall into reproach and the snare of the devil.
If you can’t find two minutes, can you spare just one?
8/20–Can You Spare A Minute?
8/20-A King stood high above his subjects on a balcon y. I need a kidney and I wonder if any of you below would be willing to give me one of yours? I know it is asking a lot and would be a great sacrifice! A loud cry went up from the majority crying loudly let it be me, please let it be me!!
The King turned to his main aide and asked how can I choose among them since so many want to volunteer? There was a feather near his feet and he got an idea! He told his subjects I know what I’ll do, I’ll drop this feather and whoever it lands on will get the honor of donating me a kidney.
As the feather came slowly descending a swooshing sound could be heard as the subjects started blowing the feather. This is the way of a lot of people that tell God let me, let me God. But when God says ok go ahead they start trying to shift the load off them and onto someone else! They start to blow the feather away from themselves.

Until it’s my turn I will keep clapping for others it’s really that simple!
Story:
Best Day Or Worst Day—Perspective
Charles Francis Adams, 19th century political figure and diplomat, kept a diary. One day he entered: “Went fishing with my son today–a day wasted.” His son, Brook Adams, also kept a diary, which is still in existence. On that same day, Brook Adams made this entry: “Went fishing with my father–the most wonderful day of my life!” The father thought he was wasting his time while fishing with his son, but his son saw it as an investment of time. The only way to tell the difference between wasting and investing is to know one’s ultimate purpose in life and to judge accordingly.

Dear sons, I see my death approaching, but I want to share a secret before you all leave. These areas have treasure hidden inside. Dig the whole area after my death, to find it. ”
The old farmer died. The sons start digging for money without leaving any part of the field but nothing is found. In any case, digging their fields leads to healthier crops and results in higher incomes. These earnings make the sons realize what their father means.

It is said that Thomas Edison performed 50,000 (sic) experiments before he succeeded in producing a storage battery. We might assume the famous inventor would have had some serious doubts along the way. But when asked if he ever became discouraged working so long without results, Edison replied, “Results? Why, I know 50,000 things that won’t work.”

If you can’t find two minutes, can you spare just one?
8/19– Can You Spare A Minute?
8/19–A little boy invited his mother to attend his elementary school’s first teacher-parent conference. To the little boy’s dismay, she said she would go. This would be the first time that his classmates and teacher met his mother and he was embarrassed by her appearance. Although she was a beautiful woman, there was a severe scar that covered nearly the entire right side of her face. The boy never wanted to talk about why or how she got the scar.
At the conference, the people were impressed by the kindness and natural beauty of his mother despite the scar, but the little boy was still embarrassed and hid himself from everyone. He did, however, get within earshot of a conversation between his mother and his teacher, and heard them speaking.
How did you gel the scar on your face?” the teacher asked. The mother replied, “When my son was a baby, he was in a room that caught on fire. Everyone was too afraid to go in because the fire was out of control, so I went in. As I was running toward his crib, I saw a beam coming down and I placed myself over him trying to shield him. I was knocked unconscious but fortunately, a fireman came in and saved , both of us.” She touched the burned side of her face. “This scar will be permanent, but to this day, I have never regretted doing what I did.”
At this point, the little boy came out running towards his mother with tears in his eyes.He hugged her and felt an overwhelming sense of the sacrifice that his mother had made for him. He held her hand tightly for the rest of the day.
This story reminds me,very much, of my own Mother who also had a big scar that covered the right side of her face before I was ever born. She was attacked by a bulldog when she was about four years old. But I was not ashamed of the scar. No, I thought she was beautiful and a beautiful soul. She was the kindest person I ever knew.
