If you can’t find two minutes, can you spare just one?
8/6— Can You Spare A Minute?
Think About It
Watch your thoughts; they become words. Watch your words; they become actions. Watch your actions; they become habits. Watch your habits; they become character. Watch your character; it becomes your destiny.

Tell Jesus about your problems, but also tell your problems about Jesus–
It has always been rough when meeting up with the “bully”. Satan is the bully of all bullies.
As the old American Express commercial used to say “Don’t Leave home without it”…..meaning American Express. I say, instead, don’t leave home without Him, Jesus!
Satan is not afraid of you, but he backs up and trembles at the name of Jesus. Remind the bully, and your problems, that you know Jesus, and that He checks in on you very often. He would not take kindly to anyone roughing you up.
Vengeance is mine, saith the Lord! I have read and heard about bullying being a major problem at schools. That is not the only place where it is happening. So, let Jesus give you a hand with the bully.

8/5– Can You Spare A Minute?
An enthusiastic but somewhat unscrupulous salesman was waiting to see the purchasing agent of the engineering firm where my husband worked. The salesman was there to submit his company’s bid, or price quote, for a particular job. He couldn’t help but notice, however, that a competitor’s bid was on the purchasing 0agent’s desk. Unfortunately, the actual figure was covered by a can of juice. The temptation to see the amount quoted became too much, so the salesman lifted the can. His heart sank as he watched thousands of BB’s pour from the bottomless can and scatter across the floor.
The way YOU WALK & TALK reflects your LOVE for GOD…
OR NOT! Let your LIGHT SHINE!!
Story:
A King stood high above his subjects on a balcony. I need a kidney and I wonder if any of you below would be willing to give me one of yours? I know it is asking a lot and would be a great sacrifice! A loud cry went up from the majority crying loudly let it be me, please let it be me!!
The King turned to his main aide and asked how can I choose among them since so many want to volunteer? There was a feather near his feet and he got an idea! He told his subjects I know what I’ll do, I’ll drop this feather and whoever it lands on will get the honor of donating me a kidney.
As the feather came slowly descending a swooshing sound could be heard as the subjects started blowing the feather. This is the way of a lot of people that tell God let me, let me God. But when God says ok go ahead they start trying to shift the load off them and onto someone else! They start to blow the feather away from themselves.

For as the body is one, and hath many members, and all the members of that one body, being many, are one body: so also is Christ. For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body, whether we be Jews or Gentiles, whether we be bond or free; and have been all made to drink into one Spirit. For the body is not one member, but many.
If the foot shall say, Because I am not the hand, I am not of the body; is it therefore not of the body? And if the ear shall say, Because I am not the eye, I am not of the body; is it therefore not of the body? If the whole body were an eye, where were the hearing? If the whole were hearing, where were the smelling? But now hath God set the members every one of them in the body, as it hath pleased him. And if they were all one member, where were the body?
But now are they many members, yet but one body. And the eye cannot say unto the hand, I have no need of thee: nor again the head to the feet, I have no need of you. Nay, much more those members of the body, which seem to be more feeble, are necessary: And those members of the body, which we think to be less honourable, upon these we bestow more abundant honour; and our uncomely parts have more abundant comeliness.

A monk joined a monastery and took a vow of silence.
After the first 10 years, his superior called him in and gave him an opportunity to speak two words, “Do you have anything to say?” The monk replied, “Food bad.”
After another 10 years, the monk again had opportunity to voice his thoughts. He said, “Bed hard.”
Another 10 years went by and again he was called in before his superior. When asked if he had anything to say, he responded, “I quit.” His superior said, It doesn’t surprise me a bit. You’ve done nothing but complain ever since you got here.”
A successful person is one that can lay a firm foundation with the bricks that others throw at them!
Life in itself has no meaning. Life is an opportunity to create meaning.”
Story:
Perspective–seasoned by experience, you begin to understand what not to worry about. So that you can put your efforts into that which is productive and not in that which will energize your enemies by focusing on them and what they are trying to do.
If you start speaking to them you give life to them and make them bigger by focusing on them. You need to ignore what they are doing, and keep on doing what you are called to do. Because whatever you put your attention on you give life to. You make something or somebody important the moment you give it or them attention.
Whatever you give attention to you make important. If you want to kill something, ignore it. A lot of time Jesus answered them not a word. Let the silence settle.

Paul Harvey tells the story of a young rookie lawyer who was sitting in his new office waiting for his first client. When he heard the outer door open, he quickly tried to soun km ok c d very busy.
As the man entered the office, the young lawyer picked up the telephone and said, “Bill, I’m flying to New York on the Mitchell Brothers thing; it looks like it’s going to be a biggie. Also, we’ll need to bring Carl in from Houston on the Cimarron Case. By the way, Al Cunningham and Pete Finch want to come in with me as partners. Bill, you’ll have to excuse me, somebody just came in…”
He hung up and turned to the man who had just entered and said, “How may I help you?”
The man said, “I’m here to hook up the phone!”
We do not have to exaggerate our supposed talents or abilities to be acceptable to Jesus.
He loves us anyhow.

A missionary society wrote to David Livingstone and asked, “Have you found a good road to where you are? If so, we want to know how to send other men to join you.”
Livingstone wrote back, “If you have men who will come only if they know there is a good road, I don’t want them. I want men who will come if there is no road at all.”

Whereas ye know not what shall be on the morrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapour, that appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth away. For that ye ought to say, If the Lord will, we shall live, and do this, or that.
If you can’t find two minutes, can you spare just one?
8/1– Can You Spare A Minute?
Death Is Not Necessarily Loss
A little girl whose baby brother had just died asked her mother where Baby had gone. “To be with Jesus,” replied the mother.
A few days later, talking to a friend, the mother said, “I am so grieved to have lost my baby.”
The little girl heard her, and remembering what her mother had told her, looked up into her face and asked, “Mother, is a thing lost when you know where it is?” “No, of course not.” “Well, then how can Baby be lost when he has gone to be with Jesus?” Her mother never forgot this. It was the truth.
Extracting the precious from the worthless..If you can have and develop this talent in life, you will be a very valuable person.
Jesus told Lazurus to come forth. When others saw something worthless and of no use but to bury, Jesus saw life….precious life. There are plenty of people that have something precious hidden inside that almost no one (including themselves) can see.
Oh, to be able to see and recognize these precious jewels. People that the world has turned its back on . Maybe that person is a teacher or a friend, or whatever relationship.
I knew a man who would talk to me like I was indeed someone special. He wasn’t related, just a friend. He knew how to bring out the best in me. Do you bring out the best in people, or the worst?
There are people, who seemingly, cannot carry on a good conversation, but can sing like angels. There are people we have known, probably for some time, who have a great talent, or story…but we don’t know because we didn’t go deep enough.
We are too concerned about ourselves to find out about others…their needs, talents, and many things they have to contribute.
Heroes who look like ordinary people. There is a hero in every one of us, it just has to be awakened!

But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you. Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.
