“Crabs in a barrel is a story I’ve heard motivational speaker Craig Valentine tell! He said you could put crabs and a big barrel and leave the lid off and still none of them would get out. Just to soon as one crab started getting near the top of crab below would reach up and pull him back down. Craig compared it to us humans. If we are slightly below another and they begin to rise we have a tendency to try to pull them back now. If we say that we are going to write a book they say, “don’t you know that you probably won’t be successful?” They ask if we know how many people have written books that didn’t sell even one hundred copies? They seemingly want to dash some water on your fire. They ask the question “what do you want to do that for.””

UNITY will MOVEtheCHURCH forward!
Story:
I read the following poem once that I would like to share with you. I’m sorry I do not know the author to credit.
Opportunities Missed: There was a very cautious man Who never laughed or played; He never risked, he never tried, He never sang or prayed. And when he one day passed away His insurance was denied; For since he never really lived, They claimed he never died!
How many reading this go through life playing defense? They are so afraid of making a mistake they don’t try anything. I say go for it because you never know until you try. I say play offense because life will only give back to you in proportion to that which have put in.

I returned, and saw under the sun, that the race is not to the swift, nor the battle to the strong, neither yet bread to the wise, nor yet riches to men of understanding, nor yet favour to men of skill; but time and chance happeneth to them all.
If you can’t find two minutes, can you spare just one?
7/10–Can You Spare A Minute?
Father to his son: don’t ever let anybody tell you that you can’t do something…. not even me.
If you have a dream…. you have to protect it! When people can’t do something themselves .. they want to tell you that you can’t do it. If you want something go get it, period.
Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate but that we are powerful beyond. measure! Is our light not our darkness is that for most frightens us. You’re playing small does not serve the
world there is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that people won’t feel insecure around you.
We were all meant to shine as children do. It’s not distant some of us it’s in everyone. As we unconsciously let our own light shine we give others permission to do the same as we are liberated from our own fear. Our presence automatically liberates others. In this lifetime, you don’t have to prove anything to nobody except yourself!! You need to keep negotiating with your mind to find more strength…. but you keep going.
Dream big, don’t ever give up. Help other people achieve success and you will be successful! The biggest seller is cookbooks and the second is diet books –how not to eat what you’ve just learned how to cook.
One day a professor entered the classroom and asked his students to prepare for a surprise test. They waited anxiously at their desks for the test to begin. The professor handed out the question paper, with the text facing down as usual.
Once he handed them all out, he asked his students to turn the page and begin. To everyone’s surprise, there were no questions….just a black dot in the center of the page.
The professor seeing the expression on everyone’s face told them the following: “I want you to write what you see there.”
The students confused, got started on the difficult task. At the end of the class, the professor took all the answer papers and started reading each one of them aloud in front of all the students.
All of them, with no exceptions, described the black dot, trying to explain its position in the middle of the sheet, etc. etc. etc.
After all, had been read, the classroom silent, so the professor began to explain:
I am not going to grade you on this; I just wanted to give you something to think about. No one wrote about the white part of the paper.
Everyone focused on the black dot – and the same happens in our lives. We have a white paper to observe and enjoy, but we always focus on the dark spots.
Our life is a gift given to us by God, with love and care, and we always have reasons to celebrate – nature renewing itself every day, our friends around us, the job that provides our livelihood, the miracles we see every day…….
However, we insist on focusing only on the dark spots – the health issues that bother us, the lack of money, the complicated relationship with a family member, the disappointment with a friend, a.s.o.
The dark spots are tiny compared to everything we have in our lives, but they are the ones that pollute our minds.

One young, academically excellent person went to apply for a managerial position in a big company. He passed the first interview, the director did the last interview, made the previous decision.
The director discovered from the CV that the youth’s academic achievements were excellent all the way, from the secondary school until the postgraduate research, Never had a year when he did not score.
The director asked, “Did you obtain any scholarships in school?” The youth answered, “none.” The director asked, “Was it your father who paid for your school fees?”
The youth answered, “My father passed away when I was one year old; it was my mother who paid for my school fees.”
The director asked, “Where did your mother work?”
The youth answered, “My mother worked as clothes cleaner. “
The director requested the youth to show his hands. The youth showed a pair of hands that were smooth and perfect.
The director asked, “Have you ever helped your mother wash the clothes before?”
The youth answered, “Never, my mother always wanted me to study and read more books. Furthermore, my mother can wash clothes faster than me”.
The director said, “I have a request. When you go back today, go and clean your mother’s hands, and then see me tomorrow morning”.
The youth felt that his chance of landing the job was high. When he went back, he happily requested his mother to let him clean her hands.
His mother felt strange, happy, but with mixed feelings, she showed her hands to the kid. The youth washed his mother’s hands slowly. His tear fell as he did that.
It was the first time he noticed that his mother’s hands were so wrinkled, and there were so many bruises in her hands. Some injuries were so painful that his mother shivered when they were cleaned with water.
This was the first time the youth realized that it was this pair of hands that washed the clothes every day to enable him to pay the school fee. The bruises in the mother’s hands were the price that the mother had to pay for his graduation, academic excellence, and his future.
After finishing the cleaning of his mother’s hands, the youth quietly washed all the remaining clothes for his mother. That night, mother and son talked for a very long time.
The next morning, the youth went to the director’s office. The director noticed the tears in the youth’s eyes, asked: “Can you tell me what have you done and learned yesterday in your house?”
The youth answered, “I cleaned my mother’s hand and also finished cleaning all the remaining clothes.”
The director asked, “please tell me your feelings.”
The youth said,
“Number 1, I know now what is appreciation. Without my mother, there will not let a successful me today. Number 2, By working together and helping my mother, only I now realize how difficult and tough it is to get something done. Number 3, I have come to appreciate the importance and value of family “relationships.
The director said, “This is what I am looking for to be my manager. I want to recruit a person who can appreciate the help of others, a person who knows the sufferings of others to get things done, and a person who would not put money as his only goal in life. You are hired”.
Later on, this young person worked very hard and received the respect of his subordinates. Every employee worked diligently and as a team. The company’s performance improved tremendously.

There’s a Spanish story of a father and son who had become estranged. The son ran away, and the father set off to find him. He searched for months to no avail. Finally, in a last desperate effort to find him, the father put an ad in a Madrid newspaper. The ad read: Dear Paco, meet me in front of this newspaper office at noon on Saturday. All is forgiven. I love you. Your Father. On Saturday 10 Pacos showed up, looking for forgiveness and love from their fathers.

For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you: But if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.
I heard a story about a man touring a foundry. The tour guide asked the man if he would wait for him for a few minutes and he would be right back. After a few minutes the man heard awful sounding noises coming from the furnace where the dross was being separated.
When the tour guide returned the man met him in a panic. The man wanted the tour guide to hurry and told him he the thought the furnace was ready to explode and begged him to turn the furnace down.
The tour guide said no. In fact, he was about to turn it up even higher. He explained it was only the baser elements belching and hollering that was the cause of all the racket. He said if he turned the furnace up it would burn them off.
