2/4–Quote:

In every life we have some trouble, when you worry you make it double, don’t worry be happy!

Story:

And then it occurred to me, Hey, this isn’t just the game of Monopoly that has caught my attention; this is the game of life. You sweat and strain to get ahead, but then one day, after a little chest pain or a wrong change of lanes on the freeway, the game ends. It all goes back in the box. You leave this world just as naked as the day you came into it. 

I once saw a bumper sticker that proclaimed, He who dies with the most toys wins. That’s wrong. It should say, He who dies with the most toys dies anyway.

Scripture:

1 Timothy 6:6-10

But godliness with contentment is great gain. For we brought nothing into this world, and it is certain we can carry nothing out. And having food and raiment let us be therewith content. But they that will be rich fall into temptation and a snare, and into many foolish and hurtful lusts, which drown men in destruction and perdition. For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.

Humor:

2/4–An award should go to the United Airlines gate agent in Denver for being smart and funny, and making he point, when confronted with a passenger who probably deserved to fly as cargo. During the final days at Denver’s old Stapleton airport, a crowded United flight was cancelled.

A single agent was rebooking a long line of inconvenienced travelers. Suddenly an angry passenger pushed his way to the desk. He slapped his ticket down on the counter and said, “I have to be on this flight and it has to be FIRST CLASS.” The agent replied, “I’m sorry sir. I’ll be happy to try to help you, but I’ve got to help those folks first, and I’m sure we’ll be able to work something out.”

The passenger was unimpressed. He asked loudly, so that the passengers behind him could hear, “Do you have nay idea who I am?” Without hesitating, the gate agent smiled and grabbed her public address microphone.

“May I have your attention please?” She began, her voice bellowing throughout the terminal. “We have a passenger here at the gate WHO DOES NOT KNOW WHO HE IS. If anyone can help him find his identity, please come to the gate.”

Good question! Who are we? In Christ we are new creations!

2/4–Deal with the thoughts of others as gently as you do your own

Think About It

 Watch your thoughts; they become words. Watch your words; they become actions. Watch your actions; they become habits. Watch your habits; they become character. Watch your character; it becomes your destiny.

An old man lived in the village. The whole village was tired of him; he was always gloomy, he constantly complained and was always in a bad mood. 

The longer he lived, the viler he became and more poisonous were his words. People did their best to avoid him because his misfortune was contagious. He created the feeling of unhappiness in others.

But one day, when he turned eighty, an incredible thing happened. Instantly everyone started hearing the rumor: ‘The old man is happy today, he doesn’t complain about anything, smiles, and even his face is freshened up.’

The whole village gathered around the man and asked him, “What happened to you?”

The old man replied, ‘Nothing special. Eighty years I’ve been chasing happiness and it was useless. And then I decided to live without happiness and just enjoy life. That’s why I’m happy now.’”

My Anniversary // Groundhog Day

Quote:

The things that you are passionate about are not random,they are your calling!

Story:

The snow covered the ground where three lads were playing. A man came along and said to them, “Would you like to try a race and the winner receive a prize?” 

   The boys agreed and the man told them that his race was to be different. “I will go to the other side of the field,” he said, “and when I give you the signal, you will start to run. The one whose footsteps are the straightest in the snow will be the winner.” 

   The race commenced and the first boy kept looking at his feet to see if his steps were straight. The second lad kept looking at his companions to see what they were doing; but the third boy just ran on with his eyes steadfastly fixed on the man on the other side of the field. 

   The third lad was the winner, for his footsteps were straight in the snow. He had kept his eyes on the goal ahead of him. 

Scripture:

Psalms 1:1-3

Psalms

Blessed is the man

that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly,

nor standeth in the way of sinners,

nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful.

But his delight is in the law of the LORD;

and in his law doth he meditate day and night.

2/2– Can You Spare A Minute?

2/2– Happy Groundhog Day—God has a pension plan that will match your contributions 

A young man working in the army was constantly humiliated because he believed in God. One day the captain wanted to humiliate him in front of the troops.

He called the young man and said: Young man come here, take the key and go park the Jeep in front. The young man replied:

I don’t know how to drive! The captain replied: Then ask your God for help! Show us there is!

The young man took the key, went to the vehicle and started praying. Then he parked the car-jeep just like the captain wanted.

When the young soldier came out of the Jeep he saw them all crying. 

They all said to him: – We want to serve your God! 

Young soldier marveled and asked-what’s going on? The captain crying opened the hood of the jeep and showed the young man :- that the car did not have an engine!

Then the boy said :- See?

This is the God whom I serve, nothing is impossible with God, God who gives life to him who does not exist. You may think these are impossible things, but with God all things are possible.

Quote:

2/1–We are told to let our light shine and if it does we won’t need to tell anybody that it does.

Lighthouses don’t fire cannons to call attention to their shining they just shine

Story: And we think we’ve got problems. Pastor Jack Hinton from New Bern, N.C. was leading music for a worship service held in a leper colony on the island of Tobago. There was time for one more selection. He asked for a request, and a woman who had been facing away from the pulpit turned around.

“I saw the most hideous face I had ever seen,” Jack says, “The woman’s nose and ears were entirely gone. Most of her lips had rotted away. “She lifted a fingerless hand in the air and asked, ‘Can we sing Count Your Many Blessings?’”

Overcome with emotion, Jack left the service. He was followed by a team member who said, “Jack, I guess you’ll never be able to sing that song again.” “Yes I will,” Jack replied, “but I’ll never sing it the same way again.”

That kind of changes our perspective, doesn’t it? How many blessings can you count?
