Illustration: There was a King that had two slaves. The King told the slaves that he
would paid them a years wage if they would take the all the water out of his
well and dump into a wicker basket.
The slaves agreed to do the work. The first slave took a bucket and
filled it with water and dumped it into the wicker basket. He did this two or
three times and relized that he was not accomplishing anything so he told the
other slave ” This is foolishness, we are not accomplishing anything, I am
leaving!”
The other slave tried to reason with the first slave saying
“The Master already paid us our wage, we have to do this!!!”
The first slave left anyway. The other slave picked up the bucket and
continued the work until the well was dry. When he finished he looked into the
basket and saw a basket full of diamonds. They were transparent to the eyes
while in the water.
When the master returned he praised the faithful slave and gave him the
basket of diamonds in addition to the wages he already had recieved.
In God’s organization some times we do not always realize what we
are doing or why we might be doing something but Jehovah never asks us to do anything that will harm us, and if we are a faithful servant of God’s, he will reward us with a treasure beyond imagination.

Story:
“I am reminded of the man who lost his luggage on a transcontinental flight. Upon arriving at his destination and discovering that his bags had not, this man made his way to the airline’s claim office, where he caused a scene. The employee recording his information “patiently endured the angry tirade until the passenger accused her of personal incompetence. “Sir,” she answered, “no one knows where your baggage is yet. At the moment, only two people in the whole world even care where it is—and one of us is rapidly losing interest!”
Scripture:
Revelation 2:7
He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches; To him that overcometh will I give to eat of the tree of life, which is in the midst of the paradise of God.
Humor:
The story is told of the fellow that called 911. He screamed, “You gotta send somebody to help me! My wife is lying on the floor and I don’t know what’s wrong with her.” The operator said, “Okay, settle down. What’s your address?” The man said, “613 Eucalyptus.”
She asked, “Sir, can you spell that for me?” There was a long pause and he finally said, “If I drag her over to Oak Street, can you pick her up there?”
Well, maybe not everyone is completely truthful.
Jesus spelled out the future for us and because of the empty tomb we can believe everything else that Jesus told us.

Story:
Illustration: A little banyan seed said to a palm tree one day, “I am weary of being tossed about by the wind; let me lodge in your branches.”
“Remain as long as you like,” was the reply. Soon the tree forgot all about its tiny guest, but the seed did not remain idle. Immediately it began to work its roots under the bark and into the heart of the trunk itself.
Finally the tree cried out, “What are you doing?”
“I’m only the little seed you allowed to rest among your boughs,” came the reply.
“Get out!” exclaimed the palm. “You’ve become too large and strong!”
“I cannot leave you now,” said the banyan. “We have grown together, and I would kill you if I tore myself away.”
The tree tried desperately to shake itself loose, but to no avail. Eventually its graceful leaves turned brown, and its trunk wasted away; but the banyan continued to thrive until its host could no longer be found.
Scripture:
2 Corinthians 6:14-18
Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness? And what concord hath Christ with Belial? or what part hath he that believeth with an infidel? And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? for ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people. Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you, And will be a Father unto you, and ye shall be my sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty.

3/17—One Sunday morning, after a lifeless service, the pastor noticed little Alex was staring up at the large plaque that hung in the foyer of the church. It was covered with names, and small American flags were mounted on either side of it.
The seven-year old had been staring at the plaque for some time, so the pastor walked up, stood beside the boy, and said quietly, “Good morning, Alex.”
“Good morning, pastor,” replied the young man, still focused on the plaque. “Pastor, what is this?” Alex asked.
“Well, son, it’s a memorial to all the young men and women who died in the service,” the pastor said.
They stood together staring at the large plaque. Little Alex shot back, “Which service did they die in–morning or evening?”
My, how we love to argue over worship!

“If an airline disclosed that the pilot for a particular flight was terrible at takeoffs and landings, but was reasonably proficient once the plane was airborne, how many of you would rush to buy a ticket for that flight? Would you change your mind if they offered you a deep discount?”

Humor:
Ah – an excellent communication in marriage. Who can find it?
The story is told of a wife who returned home from work to find her husband sitting in his favorite chair devouring the local newspaper. After rummaging around in the kitchen for a time, she said, “Honey, I read today that men speak 2000 words a day and women 4000 words each day.”
In a low growl he muttered, “Uh-huh, I wonder why that is?” The newspaper continued to dominate this fellow.
After a pregnant pause, “I guess it’s due to the fact that women have to repeat everything twice to their husbands.”
After finishing a paragraph in the newspaper, this poor fellow responded, “Huh?”
Ah-communication.
3/16–Can You Spare A Minute?
3/17–10/19–Think yourself happy–It is a choice you know. Just like going to the soft drink machine and deciding whether you will choose cola or uncola.
You can think yourself unhappy or happy. It is your choice.
The Apostle Paul told the ruler he was standing before that “I think myself happy” to be able to give the answer he was giving him concerning his convictions. Why would anyone choose to be unhappy?
But, it seems that some people are so determined to be unhappy that I hate to interupt them and keep them from what they work so hard at! It is not the weather, or someone else….it is your decision, yours alone.
Quit abusing yourself and blaming on someone else. I think it was Pogo who said I met the enemy, and I knew him…it was myself.
