Can You Spare A Minute Or So 10/8?

Keep Moving Forward, Even If It Is Just A Little
Every day we face choices—whether to stand still, look back, or keep moving forward. October 6 is a great reminder that progress isn’t always about giant leaps. Sometimes it’s about the small, steady steps that carry us closer to who we’re meant to be.
Life has a way of throwing detours at us. Plans don’t always work out, people disappoint us, and setbacks creep in. But when you keep moving forward—inch by inch, moment by moment—you discover that perseverance always outlasts obstacles.
Think of a runner who finishes a marathon. They don’t conquer the distance in one stride. They put one foot in front of the other until the finish line finally comes into view. Your journey works the same way.
Here’s today’s encouragement:
Don’t dwell on yesterday’s mistakes. You can’t change them, but you can learn from them. Don’t fear tomorrow’s challenges. They haven’t arrived yet, and worrying drains today’s strength. Focus on today’s step. Even the smallest effort moves you closer to your goals.
Scripture Inspiration:
“Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before, I press toward the mark…” – Philippians 3:13-14
Today, make up your mind to press forward. Even if you stumble, don’t stay down. Get up, dust yourself off, and keep going. Progress is built on persistence.
And here’s a little humor to brighten your step:
Why don’t scientists trust atoms?
Because they make up everything!
So, on this October 7, remember—you are stronger than your setbacks, and your future is brighter than your past. Keep pressing forward!

Story:
10/7–This is something that everyone needs, to be able to navigate the storms of life. Because no matter who you are you will have them. Concerning natural storms, they come up in everyone’s life no matter who you are or where you are at.
Storms just have a way of finding us no matter where we are at. It does matter if it’s not a good time or if we are ready. There are no exemptions!
The wise thing to do then, is to be ready. After all storms are always lurking and it is unwise not to prepare for them.
I have heard that you are either in a storm or you just came from a storm or you’re about to go into a storm. So, that’s all the time. We cannot afford to ignore the storms!
It is absolutely necessary that we learn to navigate the Storms!! When the media announces the approaching of storms, if you choose to ignore the warnings then you have to suffer the consequences. We would do everything we could to make sure we, along with our family and love ones, would be safe and prepared.
How many reading this feel as though you still have hope?

The renowned Quaker scholar Rufus Jones was speaking of the importance of having a radiant countenance. After his address, a woman “with an almost unbelievably plain face” came up and asked him what he would do if he had a face like hers. He replied,
While I have troubles of my own of that kind, I’ve discovered that if you light it up from within, any old face you have is good enough.”

Story:
10/6–Most people are not in the arena of because they don’t want to fight or get knocked down, so they spend their entire life sitting on the sidelines.
Discouragement is one of the main weapons of the enemy. It is one of the most used.
Discouragement will catch a ride with you on the way to work. If it misses you it will be there when you get there. Then it will try to catch a ride with you on your way back home.
Might I suggest to you that you make a list? Get a sheet of paper, preferably a lined sheet of paper. Draw a vertical line down the middle. On one side put everything good. Now, if you are not too ashamed on the other side of that vertical line put everything that is bad. I hope if you start with the good side first that you don’t ever make it to the bad side.
They asked George Bernard Shaw if he had his life to live over who would he like to be. He said the man he never was. I don’t even know you but I know this about you that you have the ability to do more. The very fact that God woke you up this morning means that God isn’t through with you yet. I would read the Bible through five times but it will take five years and I’m already 60 years old. Well, how old will you be in five years if you don’t read it five times?
Oliver Wendell Holmes said that most people go to their grave with their music still in them. The cemetery is richer than Fort Knox. In the cemetery are songs never sung, books never written, apologies never made and love never expressed. Someday Isle is a lonely place to be marooned. Millions of people are stuck on Someday I’ll do this that or the other.

Church Sign:
An elderly woman had just returned home fron an evening church service when she realized there was an intruder in the act of robbing her home of it’s valuables.
“STOP! Acts 2:38!”
Hearing her, the burglar stopped dead in his tracks and stood motionless. The woman calmly called the police and explained what was going on.
As the officer cuffed the man to take him in, he asked the burglar, “Why did you just stand there? All the lady did was yell a Bible verse to you?”
“Bible verse?” said the burglar, “She said she had an ax and two 38’s!”

You Can’t Tell God You Have Done Your Best If You Haven’t
10/8–And you know when you have done your best. At the end of the day you might try to convince yourself you have when you know, good and well, you haven’t, but it will not work. Your conscience will tell on you and let you know.
You might fool me and I might fool you, but neither one of us can fool our conscience. It is more accurate than a polygraph test. Try as you might, you just can’t do it. There have plenty that may have tried, but I am sure none of them succeeded. God designed us that way, and God intended it that way.
You may think you are smart, but you are not that smart. God is much smarter! Being honest with yourself and with your Maker is essential. You will never accomplish much if you are not honest. Plenty of people have tried to take shortcuts and beat the system but you will only wind up beating yourself. Do you part and let God do His part.
It is like pitching and catching a ball with someone. You can do the pitching or the catching, but you can’t do both! You will just have to do your part and know that God will do his part. If you try to short change the system, you will only succeed in short changing your own self. Don’t try to tell God that you have tried to do all you can or know to do when you know good and well you haven’t. When I have done my best, I know that I have more than anyone else. It gives me confidence that I will receive that I am asking God for. When I haven’t done my best I know that too. You can’t fool God.
You can’t spar with God either, because your arms are too short to box with God.
