1 Peter 3:12

For the eyes of the Lord are over the righteous, and his ears are open unto their prayers: but the face of the Lord is against them that do evil.

Would you act differently if you knew your every word or every deed was being recorded? 

Would that make a difference?

Would you act differently?

Well every word and deed is indeed recorded

And not only that but every thought… the one right now, the one you just had and your next thought!

We are constantly being video recorded… at bank, at the door of a residence 

But man’s surveillance is very amateurish compared to God’s because man cannot always determine intent… but God can and does!

Scripture: “Be not overcome of evil, but overcome evil with good.” — Romans 12:21

One of the hardest things we will ever be called upon to do is return good for evil. Human nature tells us to get even, settle the score, and make sure the other person feels the hurt they caused us. Yet God’s way is different. God’s way is higher.

When someone speaks harshly, kindness is often the last thing we want to offer. When someone mistreats us, forgiveness can feel impossible. But every time we choose goodness over bitterness, we break the cycle of evil and demonstrate the character of Christ.

Jesus Himself set the greatest example. Though He was mocked, rejected, and crucified, He prayed, “Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do.” He responded to hatred with love and cruelty with mercy.

Returning good for evil does not mean we approve of wrong behavior. It means we refuse to let someone else’s actions determine our character. We choose to rise above the offense rather than be dragged down by it.

Bitterness imprisons the heart, but kindness sets it free. Revenge may feel satisfying for a moment, but grace leaves a lasting impact. Sometimes the greatest victory is not defeating an enemy—it is refusing to become one.

Today, if someone has wronged you, ask God for the strength to respond with wisdom, kindness, and grace. Your good response may not change them immediately, but it will change you. And often, it is the light of goodness that softens hearts and opens doors that anger never could.

Thought for Today:
The strongest person is not the one who gets even, but the one who chooses to do right when wrong has been done to them.

Prayer:
Lord, help me not to be overcome by evil. Give me the strength to respond with kindness, patience, and grace. Help me reflect Your love even when it is difficult. May my actions bring honor to You and peace to my heart. Amen.

5/30–Start Your Day Off Right Series

5/30–Don’t Take Things  For Granted

Story:

There was a farmer who sold a pound of butter to the baker. One day, the baker decided to weigh the butter to see if he was getting a pound and he found that he was not. This angered him and he took the farmer to court.

The judge asked the farmer if he was using any measure. The farmer replied, you see Your Honour, I am primitive. I don’t have a proper measure, but I do have a scale. The judge asked, Then how do you weigh the butter?

The farmer replied, Your Honour since long before the baker started buying butter from me, I have been buying a pound of bread from him. Everyday, when the baker brings the bread, I put it on the scale and give him the same weight in butter. If anyone is to be blamed, it is the baker.

The moral of the story: We get back in life what we give to others. Whenever you take an action, ask yourself this question: am I giving fair value for the wages or money I hope to make? Honesty and dishonesty become a habit. Some people practise dishonesty and can lie with a straight face. Others lie so much that they don’t even know what the truth is any more. But who are they deceiving? Themselves more than anyone else. Honesty can be put across gently. Some people take pride in being brutally honest and, in the process, hurt others. It seems they get a bigger kick out of the brutality than the honesty. The choice of words and tact are important while expressing the truth.

Can You Spare A Minute Or So 5/30?

 

5/30–Buster and His Friends A traveler drove his car into a ditch near a farm. The farmer who had seen the car, came with his horse to help pull the car out of the ditch. The horse’s name was Buster. He hitched the horse up to the car and shouted, “Let’s go Bonnie! Pull!” The horse didn’t move. The farmer  then yelled, “Let’s go Kiko! Pull!” Again, the horse didn’t move. Once more the farmer shouted “Let’s go Rudy! Pull!” Nothing happened. Then the farmer said, “Let’s go Buster! Pull!” 

And the horse moved and dragged the vehicle out of the ditch. The man thanked the farmer, but being very curious he said “You called your horse three times by the wrong name. Why did you do that?” 

The farmer laughed and said, “Oh, Buster is a blind old horse. If he thought he was the only one pullling, he wouldn’t even try!”

For whom the Lord loveth he chasteneth…” — Hebrews 12:6

Nobody enjoys correction. Nobody wakes up hoping for hardship, disappointment, or a difficult season. Yet some of the greatest growth in life comes through the chastening hand of God.

Chastening is not punishment from an angry God—it is correction from a loving Father.

A loving parent does not allow a child to run into danger without warning them. In the same way, God sometimes allows discomfort, conviction, delays, or hard lessons to guide us back to the right path. What feels painful in the moment may actually be protection for your future.

There are seasons when God will slow you down so you can hear Him more clearly. There are moments when He removes distractions, humbles pride, or closes doors because He sees what we cannot see. His correction is never meant to destroy us—it is meant to develop us.

Sometimes we pray for strength, but strength is often built through struggle. We pray for wisdom, but wisdom usually comes through mistakes and lessons learned. We pray for character, and God allows circumstances that shape our hearts.

Do not mistake God’s silence for abandonment or His correction for rejection.

The very fact that God deals with us shows that He cares about what we become.

Gold is refined in fire. Trees grow stronger against the wind. And people often become wiser through adversity. The chastening hand of God may feel heavy for a moment, but it produces lasting fruit in those willing to learn from it.

Instead of asking, “Why am I going through this?” perhaps ask, “Lord, what are You trying to teach me?”

Every trial can either make us bitter or better.

God’s correction can redirect your life, restore your focus, strengthen your faith, and deepen your character. One day you may look back and thank God for the very season you once prayed to escape.

Keep trusting Him. The hand that corrects you is also the hand that holds you.

If you have a dream…. you having fun e to protect it! When people can’t do something themselves .. they want to tell you that you can’t do it. If you want something go get it, period.

Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate but that we are powerful beyond. measure! Is our light not our darkness is that for most frightens us. You’re playing small does not serve the

world there is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that people won’t feel insecure around you.

We were all meant to shine as children do. It’s not distant some of us it’s in everyone. As we unconsciously let our own light shine we give others permission to do the same as we are liberated from our own fear. Our presence automatically liberates others. In this lifetime, you don’t have to prove anything to nobody except yourself!! You need to keep negotiating with your mind to find more strength…. but you keep going.

Dream big, don’t ever give up. Help other people achieve success and you will be successful! The biggest seller is cookbooks and the second is diet books –how not to eat what you’ve just learned how to cook.

One of the greatest turning points in life comes when we stop making excuses and start taking responsibility. Responsibility is not punishment—it is power. The moment you accept responsibility for your choices, your attitude, your actions, and your future, you place yourself in position to grow stronger and wiser.

It is easy to blame circumstances, other people, or bad luck when things go wrong. But winners understand something important: while we cannot control everything that happens to us, we can control how we respond. Taking responsibility means saying, “I may not be able to change yesterday, but I can change what I do today.”

Responsibility builds character. It earns trust. It develops maturity. People who take responsibility become dependable people—at home, at work, in friendships, and in their walk with God.

Even spiritually, responsibility matters. God has given each of us gifts, opportunities, and purpose. We are called to be faithful stewards of what He has placed in our hands. Instead of waiting for someone else to fix our problems, encourage us, or carry us, we must rise up and do our part.

Mistakes will happen. Nobody is perfect. But responsible people do not run from their failures—they learn from them. Every setback can become a lesson, and every lesson can become a stepping stone toward success.

Today, take ownership of your life. Own your attitude. Own your decisions. Own your future. The road to victory begins when we stop pointing fingers and start looking in the mirror.
