Control Your Anger Before It Controls You

Anger is a natural human emotion. We all feel it at times—it rises when we’re wronged, overlooked, or mistreated. But while anger itself isn’t always the problem, what we do with it determines whether it builds us up or tears us down.

Uncontrolled anger can damage relationships, cloud judgment, and even harm our health. Words spoken in anger can’t be taken back, and actions fueled by rage often leave scars that last far longer than the moment itself.

The Bible offers this wisdom: “Be angry, and sin not: let not the sun go down upon your wrath” (Ephesians 4:26). It’s not anger that destroys—it’s holding on to it and letting it fester.

Think of anger like fire. In a fireplace, fire warms the home. But if it spreads uncontrolled, it can burn the whole house down. In the same way, anger can be channeled into positive change when controlled, but left unchecked, it consumes us and those around us.

Practical ways to control your anger:

Pause before responding. A deep breath can prevent a deep regret. Pray or reflect. Shifting your focus upward helps calm your spirit. Choose your words carefully. Once spoken, they can’t be undone. Seek solutions, not revenge. Problem-solving beats problem-making every time.

🌟 Today’s Challenge: The next time you feel anger rising, pause for a moment. Ask yourself: Will this matter tomorrow? A month from now? If not, let it go.

Self-control is strength. Calmness is mastery. True power isn’t found in letting anger explode—it’s found in choosing peace instead.

Rise above The Noise And Distractions

October 8 is a good day to remind ourselves that life is full of distractions. Negative voices, discouraging circumstances, and even our own doubts can create so much noise that we lose sight of our purpose. But here’s the truth—you were not created to stay stuck in the noise. You were created to rise above it.

When an eagle senses a storm, it doesn’t hide. It spreads its wings and lets the winds lift it higher. That storm, which could destroy smaller birds, actually becomes the very thing that elevates the eagle. Likewise, the difficulties you face can be the winds that carry you to a greater level—if you choose to rise above instead of staying grounded.

Keys to Remember Today:

Guard your thoughts. The mind is the battlefield. Think on what is good, true, and uplifting. Don’t let critics define you. Their words don’t determine your destiny—God does. Use adversity as fuel. Every challenge is an opportunity in disguise.

Scripture Inspiration:

“But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.” – Isaiah 40:31

Today, decide that you will rise above. Let October 8 be a day where you choose peace over panic, faith over fear, and purpose over distraction.

And here’s a smile for your journey:

Why did the scarecrow win an award?

Because he was outstanding in his field!

Stay encouraged today. The noise around you doesn’t have to drown out the voice within you. Keep your focus, lift your head, and rise higher!

Keep Moving Forward, Even If It Is Just A Little

Every day we face choices—whether to stand still, look back, or keep moving forward. October 6 is a great reminder that progress isn’t always about giant leaps. Sometimes it’s about the small, steady steps that carry us closer to who we’re meant to be.

Life has a way of throwing detours at us. Plans don’t always work out, people disappoint us, and setbacks creep in. But when you keep moving forward—inch by inch, moment by moment—you discover that perseverance always outlasts obstacles.

Think of a runner who finishes a marathon. They don’t conquer the distance in one stride. They put one foot in front of the other until the finish line finally comes into view. Your journey works the same way.

Here’s today’s encouragement:

Don’t dwell on yesterday’s mistakes. You can’t change them, but you can learn from them. Don’t fear tomorrow’s challenges. They haven’t arrived yet, and worrying drains today’s strength. Focus on today’s step. Even the smallest effort moves you closer to your goals.

Scripture Inspiration:

“Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before, I press toward the mark…” – Philippians 3:13-14

Today, make up your mind to press forward. Even if you stumble, don’t stay down. Get up, dust yourself off, and keep going. Progress is built on persistence.

And here’s a little humor to brighten your step:

Why don’t scientists trust atoms?

Because they make up everything!

So, on this October 7, remember—you are stronger than your setbacks, and your future is brighter than your past. Keep pressing forward!

10/7–Start Your Day Off Right Series

Quote:

10/7–The only person in the world that you are competing with is you.”

Story:

10/7–This is something that everyone needs, to be able to navigate the storms of life. Because no matter who you are you will have them. Concerning natural storms, they come up in everyone’s life no matter who you are or where you are at.

Storms just have a way of finding us no matter where we are at. It does matter if it’s not a good time or if we are ready. There are no exemptions!

The wise thing to do then, is to be ready. After all storms are always lurking and it is unwise not to prepare for them.

I have heard that you are either in a storm or you just came from a storm or you’re about to go into a storm. So, that’s all the time. We cannot afford to ignore the storms!

It is absolutely necessary that we learn to navigate the Storms!! When the media announces the approaching of storms, if you choose to ignore the warnings then you have to suffer the consequences. We would do everything we could to make sure we, along with our family and love ones, would be safe and prepared.

How many reading this feel as though you still have hope?

If you can’t find five minutes, can you spare one or two?

10/7–Can You Spare A Minute?

3/13–10/7

The renowned Quaker scholar Rufus Jones was speaking of the importance of having a radiant countenance. After his address, a woman “with an almost unbelievably plain face” came up and asked him what he would do if he had a face like hers. He replied,

While I have troubles of my own of that kind, I’ve discovered that if you light it up from within, any old face you have is good enough.”
