11/1–Start Your Day Off Right Series

Quote:

Story:

11/1–We might liken it to letting  go of a bell rope. If you have ever seen an old school house with a bell on top, or an old church with a bell in the steeple, you will remember that to get the bell ringing you have to tug awhile.

Once it has begun to ring, you merely maintain the momentum. As long as you keep pulling, the bell keeps ringing.

Forgiveness is letting go of the rope. It is just that simple. But when you do so, the bell keeps ringing. Momentum is still at work. However, if you keep your hands off the rope, the bell will begin to slow and eventually stop. The unforgiving spirit will begin to slow, and will eventually be still. Forgiveness is not something you feel, it is something you do. It is letting go of the rope.

Matthew 6:14-15

For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you: But if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.u

Humor:

11/1–For past 10 years my wife has been complaining to me about not putting the cap back on the toothpaste. On our anniversary, I decided to change this bad habit and make my wife happy.

For a week I was diligent, always capping the toothpaste. I was expecting my wife to thank me, but she never did it.

Finally, last night she turned and looked at me and said, “Why did you stop brushing your teeth?!”

Can You Spare A Minute Or So 11/1?

It is like the TV character Steve Urkel who would tear up anything and everything. Afterwards he would say ” Did I do that?” Seemingly he acted like he didn’t know that he had done anything wrong. He was in the dark about everything that his actions had done. He seemed innocent in any destruction he had caused.

People say hurtful things and act as if they had no idea that could be destructive to the relationship. They would act like what did I do, I only said so and so?

There is a little saying that we used to say when we were kids. It went something like sticks and stones may break my bones but words will never hurt me. Well, I’m here to say that words can be very hurtful. I would almost rather have the sticks and stones.

Words are like arrows shot from a bow and arrow once they leave the bow, the arrows can never return. Once you let your words proceed out of your mouth you can never grab them back.

Words are powerful especially to children who are so impressionable. We can’t wait for them to walk and talk and then we tell them to sit down and shut up!

We tell them they are dumb, clumsy and other statements of incompetence. We can program them with negative programming in the first few years of their lives that will take years of reprogramming for them to be productive in life!

Millions of children go to bed hungry tonight for lack of food and nourishment. Millions more will go to bed hungry tonight for lack of encouragement.

Words are powerful and life-changing. Words can build people up to accomplish great things, or tear them down and render them almost useless and helpless.

Guard Your Tongue, Guard Your Peace

There’s a saying that goes, “Great minds discuss ideas; average minds discuss events; small minds discuss people.” The words we speak reveal much about what’s in our hearts. When we talk about others — especially in a negative way — we’re not lifting them up or helping ourselves grow. Instead, we’re draining energy that could be used to build, encourage, and inspire.

Talking about others often feels harmless in the moment. It might even seem like casual conversation. But words have weight — and once spoken, they can’t be taken back. The Bible reminds us in Proverbs 21:23, “Whoever keeps his mouth and his tongue keeps himself out of trouble.” There’s freedom and strength in staying silent when gossip calls our name.

When you refuse to talk about others, you’re showing maturity, discipline, and integrity. You’re saying, “I choose peace over pettiness. I choose to be part of the solution, not the problem.” Instead of repeating what someone did wrong, speak about what they could become. Instead of spreading rumors, spread hope. Instead of tearing down, build up.

If someone brings gossip to you today, remember: it stops where you stand. You can change the atmosphere of a conversation simply by saying, “Let’s talk about something positive.”

Guard your words, and you’ll guard your peace. Use your tongue not as a weapon, but as a tool for healing and encouragement.

Quote:

“Before you speak, let your words pass through three gates: Is it true? Is it necessary? Is it kind?”

Scripture:

“Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the use of edifying.” — Ephesians 4:29

Learn The Fast That God Approves Of

Isaiah 58:1-14. Wherefore have we fasted, say they, and thou seest not?
wherefore have we afflicted our soul, and thou takest no knowledge?
Behold, in the day of your fast ye find pleasure,
and exact all your labours.
Behold, ye fast for strife and debate,
and to smite with the fist of wickedness:
ye shall not fast as ye do this day,
to make your voice to be heard on high.
Is it such a fast that I have chosen?
a day for a man to afflict his soul?
is it to bow down his head as a bulrush,
and to spread sackcloth and ashes under him?
wilt thou call this a fast,
and an acceptable day to the LORD?
Is not this the fast that I have chosen?
to loose the bands of wickedness,
to undo the heavy burdens,
and to let the oppressed go free,
and that ye break every yoke?
Is it not to deal thy bread to the hungry,
and that thou bring the poor that are cast out to thy house?
when thou seest the naked, that thou cover him;
and that thou hide not thyself from thine own flesh?
Then shall thy light break forth as the morning,
and thine health shall spring forth speedily:
and thy righteousness shall go before thee;
the glory of the LORD shall be thy rereward.
Then shalt thou call, and the LORD shall answer;
thou shalt cry, and he shall say, Here I am.
If thou take away from the midst of thee the yoke,
the putting forth of the finger, and speaking vanity;
And if thou draw out thy soul to the hungry,
and satisfy the afflicted soul;
then shall thy light rise in obscurity,
and thy darkness be as the noonday:
And the LORD shall guide thee continually,
and satisfy thy soul in drought,
and make fat thy bones:
and thou shalt be like a watered garden,
and like a spring of water, whose waters fail not.
And they that shall be of thee shall build the old waste places:
thou shalt raise up the foundations of many generations;
and thou shalt be called, The repairer of the breach,
The restorer of paths to dwell in.
If thou turn away thy foot from the sabbath,
from doing thy pleasure on my holy day;
and call the sabbath a delight,
the holy of the LORD, honourable;
and shalt honour him, not doing thine own ways,
nor finding thine own pleasure, nor speaking thine own words:
Then shalt thou delight thyself in the LORD;
and I will cause thee to ride upon the high places of the earth,
and feed thee with the heritage of Jacob thy father:
for the mouth of the LORD hath spoken it.

10/31–Opportunities Missed

There was a very cautious man

Who never laughed or played;

He never risked, he never tried,

He never sang or prayed.

And when he one day passed away

His insurance was denied;

For since he never really lived,

They claimed he never died!

The richest place in the world is the cemetery. It is richer than Fort Knox! There are apologies never made, Love never expressed,  songs never sung, and sermons never preached. Don’t die with your song still within you!!!

I’m not afraid of dying… only to die before I’ve ever lived!

Chart The Course And Then Stay On It

As October draws to a close, October 30 reminds us that perseverance is what separates those who dream from those who achieve. You may feel tired, worn out, or even tempted to quit—but this is exactly the moment when pressing on matters most.

Every great accomplishment was once the result of someone deciding not to give up when it would’ve been easier to walk away. Life’s challenges test your resolve, but they also shape your strength. The finish line might be closer than you think—don’t stop now!

Think of a ship in a storm. The captain doesn’t abandon the wheel when the waves rise. He tightens his grip and steers through it, knowing calm waters lie ahead. You can do the same.

Keys for Today:

Keep your focus. Distractions lose their power when your eyes stay on the goal. Draw strength from faith. You are not alone—God’s hand is steady even when yours trembles. Remember why you started. Purpose fuels perseverance.

Scripture Inspiration:

“And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.” – Galatians 6:9

Today, refuse to give up. You may not see the harvest yet, but it’s growing beneath the surface. Stay faithful, stay focused, and stay the course.

And here’s a smile to finish the month strong:

Why did the scarecrow keep working so hard?

Because he was outstanding in his field!

So on this October 30, hold your head high and keep going. You’re closer to your breakthrough than you realize.

Have The Right Blueprint And The Right Perspective

God says don’t build anything I haven’t given you a strategy for or a blueprint. God said if I give you a strategy or blue print that means I’m getting ready to use you!

The only difference in you and the person you admire is this perspective they have on life! If you are disciplined in your perspective, you will be victorious in your outcome!!

It is like going to the eye Doctor so

that you can see better. If you are not Thankful, then you need to get an Spiritual adjustment for your Spiritual eyesight!

One thing I do, that you might try, is putting a reminder on your phone, three times a day, to be more thankful.

Well, that’s pretty petty you might think, how could that work? Just try it for 21 days and see what it does, you may just get surprised!

Your perspective is critical to being an overcomer because it’s not what happens to you, it’s how you react to what happens to you that matters. Ability to manage problems is what separates the CEO from the janitor.

The higher up you go the more problems you will encounter and your ability to have the proper perspective under fire is critical and it takes much discipline. It takes discipline to remain cool and calm under fire.

Scripture:

Psalms 37:23-25

The steps of a good man are ordered by the LORD:

and he delighteth in his way.

Though he fall, he shall not be utterly cast down:

for the LORD upholdeth him with his hand.

I have been young, and now am old;

yet have I not seen the righteous forsaken,

nor his seed begging bread.

Can You Spare A Minute Or So 10/30?

Have you ever thought about having a personal, inner thermostat or regulator? If something goes wrong you know your thermostat, God will bring everything back in line.

It is like a checking account where you put in deposits and withdrawals. If you put a deposit amount that was actually a deduction you won’t balance or reconcile. If the Lord chastens you and you put on the withdrawal side you won’t balance or reconcile.

You must learn where to put things and make sure they are in perspective. It is like a wagon wheel it might be down at the moment but will roll right back up, if you will give it time.
