Choose Progress Over Perfection

So many people give up on their goals—not because they don’t care, but because they believe if they can’t do it perfectly, they shouldn’t do it at all.

Let’s break that lie today.

Progress will always beat perfection. You don’t need the perfect plan, the perfect words, or the perfect day to get started. What you need is movement. Forward is forward, even if it’s slow.

Some days, you’ll feel like you’re conquering the world. Other days, you’ll just be trying to hold it together. Both count. Both matter. Both are part of the process.

The truth is, no one becomes great overnight. Every success story is filled with moments of doubt, failure, restarts, and small wins. You’re not behind—you’re becoming.

Today’s encouragement:

💡 “Don’t judge each day by the harvest you reap, but by the seeds that you plant.” – Robert Louis Stevenson

Plant your seed today. One step. One action. One word of encouragement to yourself or someone else. You’re building something beautiful—imperfectly, but faithfully.

Keep going.

Story:

A man took his children to a restaurant. The six-year-old son asked if he could say grace. As heads were bowed he said, “God is great and God is Good. Let us thank Him for the food, and I would even thank you more if mom gets us ice-cream for dessert. And liberty and justice for all! Amen!”

Along with the laughter from the other customers nearby they heard a woman remark, “That’s what’s wrong with this country. Kids today don’t even know how to pray. Asking God for ice cream! Why, I never!” Hearing this, the son burst into tears and asked, “Did I do it wrong? Is God mad at me?” As I held him and assured him that he had done a terrific job and God was certainly not mad at him, and elderly gentleman approached the table.

He winked at my son and said, “I happen to know that God thought that was a great prayer.” “Really?” the son asked.

Cross my heart.” Then in theatrical whisper he added (indicating the woman whose remark had started this whole thing), “Too bad she never asks God for ice cream. A little ice cream is good for the soul sometimes.”

Naturally, Dad bought the boy’s ice cream at the end of the meal. The boy stared at his for a moment and then did something about that will be remembered for the rest of life. He picked up his sundae and without a word walked over and placed it in front of the woman. With a big smile he told her, “Here, this is for you. Ice cream is good for the soul sometimes and my soul is good already.”

Scripture:

Matthew 5:16

Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.

Can You Spare A Minute 6/28?

If you find five minutes, can you spare one or two?

Hey friends — can you spare a minute or so?

Sometimes life feels like you’re planting seed after seed… but nothing’s growing. No results. No change. Just dirt and silence.

But here’s the thing: just because you don’t see anything yet doesn’t mean nothing’s happening. The roots grow before the fruit shows.

Ecclesiastes 11:6 says, “Sow your seed in the morning, and at evening let your hands not be idle, for you do not know which will succeed.”

In other words — keep showing up. Keep being kind. Keep doing good. The harvest is coming… but you have to stay faithful in the planting season.

Don’t dig up in doubt what you planted in faith.

⏳ That’s your minute. Keep planting. Your breakthrough may already be breaking ground.

Can You Spare A Minute Or So 6/27?

If you can’t find five minutes, can you spare one or two?

Hey there — can you spare a minute or so?

Here’s a thought: Patience isn’t just about waiting — it’s about how you act while you wait.

We live in a world of instant everything — fast food, fast Wi-Fi, fast results. But God’s timing? It’s perfect… and rarely rushed.

James 1:4 says, “Let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing.”

That means patience isn’t weakness — it’s power under control. It’s trusting that even when nothing seems to be moving, God is still working.

So if you’re in a season of waiting today, don’t waste it with frustration. Use it to grow, to trust, and to get ready — because what God has for you is worth the wait.

⏳ That’s your minute. Let patience lead you today.

Your Effort Is Never Wasted

It’s easy to get discouraged when you don’t see instant results. You put in the time, the energy, the heart—and yet, things seem to stay the same. But let me remind you of a powerful truth:

Nothing you do with purpose is ever wasted.

Every step you take toward your goals—no matter how small—is building something within you. It’s building character. It’s building resilience. It’s building momentum.

Think of water carving through stone. It doesn’t happen in one day, but over time, the steady drip changes everything. That’s what your consistency is doing in your life—carving a path to greatness.

Even if today feels slow, hard, or thankless—keep going.

You are further along than you were yesterday. And tomorrow, you’ll be even stronger because you didn’t quit today.

Story:

The Little Boy And The World

A man was babysitting his little boy and he needed to do something so he got a newspaper with the picture of the world on it and tore the newspaper into little pieces and told the little boy to put the world back together. In just a little bit the little boy told his father he was through.

The man couldn’t believe it. He asked him how did you do it so quickly? The little boy said on the other side of the world was a picture of a man.. I put the man together and the world came together too!!

When my Grandson was a little boy he would often ask his Mother “Mama, did you know”, and then finish his sentence with his answer. That particular day his mother, my daughter, seemed to be worried and he asked her “Mama did you know”?

He told her that God had the whole world in His hand! That simple phrase from a child lifted her heart and mind to the level it needed to be at.

You can learn a lot from a child if you will just pay attention!

Scripture:

Philippians 4:8

Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.
