Is Your Spouse Truly Happy?

One of the greatest gifts you can give your spouse is not money, vacations, or expensive presents—it is the assurance that you genuinely care about their heart.

Many people live in the same house but rarely stop to ask, “Is my husband truly happy?” or “Is my wife carrying a burden they haven’t shared?” We can become so busy with work, responsibilities, and daily routines that we overlook the emotions of the person sitting right beside us.

A happy marriage isn’t built by accident. It is built through listening, noticing, encouraging, and serving. Sometimes your spouse doesn’t need you to solve a problem—they simply need to know that you care enough to ask, “How are you really doing?”

Pay attention to the little things. Has their smile faded? Do they seem unusually quiet? Are they carrying stress alone? The strongest marriages are often the ones where each spouse notices the small changes before they become big problems.

Happiness in marriage grows when appreciation is expressed regularly. A sincere “thank you,” an unexpected hug, a kind word, or simply spending uninterrupted time together can strengthen a relationship more than we realize.

Today, make it your goal to bring joy to your spouse. Pray for them. Listen to them. Encourage them. Laugh with them. Let them know they are loved, valued, and appreciated.

When both husband and wife seek to make the other person’s life better, both hearts are enriched, and God is honored.

Ask your spouse one simple question: “What is one thing I could do that would make your day a little better?” Then, without hesitation, do it.

Prayer:
Heavenly Father, thank You for the gift of marriage. Help me to be sensitive to my spouse’s needs and feelings. Teach me to love with patience, kindness, and compassion. May my words encourage, my actions demonstrate love, and my heart always seek to bring joy to my spouse. Strengthen our marriage and help us honor You in the way we love each other.
