Revenge Harms You As Much As The Other Person

Some people love to get even. Clint Eastwood does it. Rambo did it. On the old television show know as AMOS AND ANDY, Amos was extremely distraught over a guy who kept poking his finger on Amos’ chest every time he spoke to him.

Either too small or too scared to challenge the fellow physically, Amos explained his game plan to Andy in saying, “I’m going to put nitroglycerin on my chest and the next time he pokes at me he will blow his finger off!”

When you try to get even—you get hurt. Relationships are built on the basis of love—which keeps no record of wrongs and forgives!

Father to his son: don’t ever let anybody tell you that you can’t do something…. not even me. If you have a dream…. you having to protect it! When people can’t do something themselves .. they want to tell you that you can’t do it. 

If you want something go get it, period. Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate but that we are powerful beyond measure! Is our light not our darkness is that for most frightens us. 

You’re playing small does not serve the world there is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that people won’t feel insecure around you. We were all meant to shine as children do. It’s not distant some of us it’s in everyone. 

As we unconsciously let our own light shine we give others permission to do the same as we are liberated from our own fear. Our presence automatically liberates others. In this lifetime, you don’t have to prove anything to nobody except yourself!! You need to keep negotiating with your mind to find more strength…. but you keep going. 

Dream big, don’t ever give up. Help other people achieve success and you will be successful! The biggest seller is cookbooks and the second is diet books –how not to eat what you’ve just learned how to cook.

The Retiring Builder

Scripture:

Luke 6:48-49

He is like a man which built an house, and digged deep, and laid the foundation on a rock: and when the flood arose, the stream beat vehemently upon that house, and could not shake it: for it was founded upon a rock. But he that heareth, and doeth not, is like a man that without a foundation built an house upon the earth; against which the stream did beat vehemently, and immediately it fell; and the ruin of that house was great.

Humor:

One Sunday morning, after a lifeless service, the pastor noticed little Alex was staring up at the large plaque that hung in the foyer of the church. It was covered with names, and small American flags were mounted on either side of it.

The seven-year old had been staring at the plaque for some time, so the pastor walked up, stood beside the boy, and said quietly, “Good morning, Alex.”

“Good morning, pastor,” replied the young man, still focused on the plaque. “Pastor, what is this?” Alex asked.

“Well, son, it’s a memorial to all the young men and women who died in the service,” the pastor said.

They stood together staring at the large plaque. Little Alex shot back, “Which service did they die in–morning or evening?”

My, how we love to argue over worship!

A Chinese boy who wanted to learn about jade went to study with a talented old teacher. This gentle man put a piece of the precious stone into his hand and told him to hold it tight. 

Then he began to talk of philosophy, men, women, the sun and almost everything under it. After an hour he took back the stone and sent the boy home. 

The procedure was repeated for several weeks. The boy became frustrated. When would he be told about the jade? He was too polite, however, to question the wisdom of his venerable teacher. Then one day, when the old man put a stone into his hands, the boy cried out instinctively, ‘That’s not jade!’”
