5/21–It’s Not How Much Scripture You Know! It’s how much scripture you live

Story:

In the fall when you see geese headed south for the Winteri n the V formation, you may be interested that science has discovered about why they fly that way.

It has been learned that as each bird flaps his wings, it creates uplift for the bird immediately following. By flying in a “V” formation, the whole flock adds at least 71% greater flying range than if each bird flew on its own quite similar to people who are part of a team and share a common direction or goal. They get where they are going quicker and easier because they are traveling on the trust of one another and lift each other up along the way.

Whenever a goose falls out of formation, it suddenly feels the drag and resistance of trying to go thru it alone and quickly gets back into formation to take advantage of the power of the flock.

If we have as much sense as a goose, we will stay in formation and share information with those who are headed in the same direction we are going.

When the lead goose gets tired he rotates back in the wings and another goose takes over. The goose honk from behind to encourage those up front to keep their speed.

Words of support and inspiration help energize those on the front line, helping them to keep pace, in spite of the day-to-day pressures and fatigues. It is important that our honking be encouraging, otherwise it is just that..honking!

Finally, when a goose gets sick or is wounded and falls out, two geese fall out of the formation and follow the injured one down to help and protect him. They stay with him until he is either able to fly or until he is dead.

When one of us is down, it is up to the others to standby us in our time of trouble. If we have the sense of a goose, we will standby each other when things get rough.

We will stay in formation with those headed where we want to go.

Can You Spare A Minute 5/21?

youtube.com/shorts/P-mtGHrzw40

If you can’t find two minutes, can you spare just one?

I heard of story of a man that was so inflexible that he wouldn’t bend for anything or anybody. He was in a boat with another person who fell out of the boat. He could’ve easily reached down and got a hold of that person but it would require him to bend. So for the sake of his image he let the other person perish!

The Story Of The Cedar Tree In The Storm

–Once there were three trees standing on the hillside. There was an oak tree on one side and a pine tree on the other side and then in the middle was a little cedar tree.

One day a mighty storm came through and blew and the mighty oak tree slid down the hill. The wind kept blowing and in a little while the pine tree slid down the hill. But when the wind finally stopped blowing, the cedar tree was left standing.

The people of that area began to wonder how it was that the cedar tree survived. They got a their shovels and started digging down and they dug and dug ….down until they saw why the cedar stood while bigger and mightier trees slid down the hill. Its roots has wrapped themselves around a big huge rock under the ground.

So when the winds of the storms and the spiritual storms blow if you wrap your roots around the Spiritual Rock which is Christ Jesus, you can stand even the mightiest of storms!!

I couldn’t decide whether to go to Salt Lake City or Denver for vacation, so I called the airlines to get prices. “Airfare to Denver is $300,” the cheery salesperson replied. “And what about Salt Lake City?” “We have a really great rate to Salt Lake—$99,” she said “But there is a stopover.” “Where?” “In Denver,” she said.

5/20–Ignore What Is Not Profitable

Story:

As a man was passing the elephants, he suddenly stopped, confused by the fact that these huge creatures were being held by only a small rope tied to their front leg. No chains, no cages. It was obvious that the elephants could, at anytime, break away from their bonds but for some reason, they did not.

He saw a trainer nearby and asked why these animals just stood there and made no attempt to get away. “Well,” trainer said, “when they are very young and much smaller we use the same size rope to tie them and, at that age, it’s enough to hold them. As they grow up, they are conditioned to believe they cannot break away. They believe the rope can still hold them, so they never try to break free.”

The man was amazed. These animals could at any time break free from their bonds but because they believed they couldn’t, they were stuck right where they were.

Like the elephants, how many of us go through life hanging onto a belief that we cannot do something, simply because we failed at it once before?

Failure is part of learning; we should never give up the struggle in life.

5/20– Can You Spare A Minute?

Billy Graham

“I not only know who I am. I also know where I’m going.” May your troubles be less, your blessings more, and may nothing but happiness, come through your door. “Life without God is like an unsharpened pencil – it has no point.”

Get Rid Of Bitterness, It Is Very Harmful

Bitterness—Bitterness is one set of thoughts that have got to go,at once.

It does not harm anyone else but you. It is killing you, sapping the life out of you.

It is like having a mouse and buying poison to rid you of the mouse. Instead of giving it to the mouse, you swallow it. You wait for the mouse to die, but the only one dying is you!

Maybe you are at odds with your Father, Son, Brother, best friend! Please don’t wait another day!!

Forgive them, and ask them to do the same for you. Forgive has for-give in it. It is a gift to the other person, and a great gift to yourself.

Bitterness is like having acid in the palm of your hand to throw on someone else. It will eat your hand up before you can get any on that person. Can you even imagine what that must be doing to you on the inside? Replace that bitterness with Forgiveness and Love.

5/19—Don’t Worry About The Delta

Story:

At a cocktail party one evening, a famous pianist gave a recital. Afterward, her hostess said, “I would gave anything to be able to play like you.”

The pianist looked at her thoughtfully for a moment and replied, “No you wouldn’t.”

The hostess, surprised and embarrassed in front of her guest, said, “I most certainly would.”

The pianist shook her head. “You would love to play as I play now, but you are not willing to practice eight hours a day for twenty years to learn how to play that way.”

Take whatever you want, said God, but pay for it!

The Man Who Wanted To Go There

There was a man standing on a hill looking down on a man in the valley. The man on the hill said to himself I am here and the man in the valley is there. I don’t want to be here, I want to be there. I will just go join the man in the valley and then I can be there too!

So the man on the hill hastened to join the man in the valley, for he had always longed to be there. When he finally got to the man in the valley he was so happy he exclaimed to the man I am finally there.

The man in the valley said no my son you are here. The man on the hill said please tell me where there is so I can finally be there. The man in the valley said you see that hill you just came from? Well that is there and you are here.

So, when you long to get there in life, life will let you know you haven’t arrived.

When I get $1 million dollars, get married, get my drivers license, you think, I will finally be there. You get married and then feel like it will take a child before you are finally there. Then you think when I get this child raised and through school….. well, you get my point!

We seem to never be there because we are always here!!
