8/28—Start Your Day Off Right Series

Story:

As you are reading this I am sure some of you have strained relationships that need fixing and have needed fixing for such a long time. Fathers and Sons, Mothers and Daughters, good friends who haven’t spoken or have avoided each other for a long, long time.     Why don’t you just pick up the phone if they are not near you, or better still, Go and see them if possible. 

    If I could say something that would prick the heart and conscience of just one person reading this, I would feel like its existence would be well worth it!

    Hasn’t your separation gone on long enough? Some of you have even forgotten what it was all about, and why it even happened. 

    I don’t know why you feel the way you do but I do know that it’s not worth it. 

     We should treat every living person as if they would be gone from this earth within the next twenty four hours. 

     The person that you have a strained relationship with may very well be gone within twenty four hours. In the cemetery there will be apologies never made and forgiveness never given. 

     You may not see the bars and no one else may not be able to see them but you’re in prison all the same. Oh I’m not saying that you don’t ever get out or ever get away from those bars. But like a caged animal you eventually come back to your cage. 

    I hate for something so small to make you a little person when you could’ve been something big. Don’t you hate for something to have such a hold on you that it wounded you and rendered you helpless.

     Friend I know it looks like a mountain and looks so hopeless and helpless. I would love to see the handcuffs and shackles fall off you at this very moment and you be free.

      Don’t tell me that you are getting accustomed to this and you are actually enjoying it. Don’t tell me that you have wallowed in this for so long that you are actually getting comfortable in wallowing? 

    When Moses went before the pharaoh and asked to let God’s people go, God sent plagues to the Egyptians. 

    One of the plagues was frogs. Pharaoh said that he would let the people go. Moses asked him when did he want the frogs to leave. Pharaoh told Moses tomorrow.

      To me this is unbelievable and unacceptable to be willing to live with the frogs another day. I wouldn’t want the frogs in my bed and in my stove another night.

     When are you going to forgive,tomorrow? You are willing to sleep with unforgiveness another night and wallow in stubbornness?

    I can just almost hear your thoughts. You want to know if I am asking you to forgive when you know you are in the right. Yes, that’s exactly what I’m doing, because you can have the right away in an automobile and still be killed. 

    Oh, I’m doing all right you may be saying. Oh really, whether you know it or not you are dying by degrees. 

    Besides this you may be killing the other person as well. Why don’t you give the gift that keeps on giving, forgiveness!

       You may be praying that they will come to you and start the process of forgiving. And they may be praying that you may come to them and start the process of forgiving.

      You’d better hurry or you just want to let them beat you out in being the bigger person!

     If I had acid in my hand that I was going to pour on you for something you had done, my hand would be eaten up before I could get it on you. That’s what’s going on in your heart it’s gonna kill you and eat you up before it gets to him or her.

     How about laying your weapon of unforgiveness down and go to that person unarmed? 

     When you go seek to understand first and then be understood later! I just feel like someone is going to take me up on this. When your chains fall off of you would you please email me and tell me that you’re free at encourager98@yahoo.com? I would like to celebrate with you!!

8/28–Unscrupulous Salesman

An enthusiastic but somewhat unscrupulous salesman was waiting to see the purchasing agent of the engineering firm where my husband worked. The salesman was there to submit his company’s bid, or price quote, for a particular job. He couldn’t help but notice, however, that a competitor’s bid was on the purchasing agent’s desk.

Unfortunately, the actual figure was covered by a can of juice. The temptation to see the amount quoted became too much, so the salesman lifted the can. His heart sank as he watched thousands of BB’s pour from the bottomless can and scatter across the floor.

Rough Times Sorts Out The Best And Worse In People

Potatoes may be likened to people.   Now, surely you’re wondering, how can that be?

   Well when potatoes are harvested, they have to be spread out to sort them into sizes.    This ensures maximum market dollar since larger “spuds” command a higher price.

The potato farmers in Idaho all use this method to bag their product.  Spread them out, sort them and finally “bag em”.

   

All that is but one. He never appeared to sort his potatoes like everybody else did.   But he always turned a good price by having bags with large “spuds”.

One of his neighbors finally asked his secret.

   He said, “It’s simple. I just load up the wagon with potatoes and take the roughest road to town. During the trip, the little potatoes always fall to the bottom. The medium potatoes land in the middle, while the big potatoes rise to the top.” 

People are like that too.   Rough times sorts out the best and the worst of people.

A son took his old father to a restaurant for an evening dinner. Father being ancient and weak, while eating, dropped food on his shirt and trousers. Other diners watched him in disgust while his son was calm. After, he finished eating, his son, who was not at all embarrassed, quietly took him to the washroom, wiped the food particles, removed the stains, combed his hair, and fitted his spectacles firmly.

When they came out, the entire restaurant was watching them in dead silence, not able to grasp how someone could embarrass themselves publicly like that. The son settled the bill and started walking out with his father.

At that time, an old man amongst the diners called out to the son and asked him, “Don’t you think you have left something behind?”.

The son replied, “No, sir, I haven’t.”

The older man retorted,

 “

Yes, you have! You left a lesson for every son and hope for every father”. The restaurant went silent.

5/30–Buster and His Friends A traveler drove his car into a ditch near a farm. The farmer who had seen the car, came with his horse to help pull the car out of the ditch. The horse’s name was Buster. He hitched the horse up to the car and shouted, “Let’s go Bonnie! Pull!” The horse didn’t move. The farmer then yelled, “Let’s go Kiko! Pull!” Again, the horse didn’t move. Once more the farmer shouted “Let’s go Rudy! Pull!” Nothing happened. Then the farmer said, “Let’s go Buster! Pull!”

And the horse moved and dragged the vehicle out of the ditch. The man thanked the farmer, but being very curious he said “You called your horse three times by the wrong name. Why did you do that?”

The farmer laughed and said, “Oh, Buster is a blind old horse. If he thought he was the only one pullling, he wouldn’t even try!”

Has satan ever presented a thought to you and you thought, never happen….but it did. People have married and never thought trouble would come to their home, but satan worked his way in.He can even take the ridiculous and make it seem like that’s the way it is supposed to be.

Story:

A father whose sons constantly quarrelled, asked them to bring him a bundle of sticks and then challenged each in turn to break the bundle over their knees, which they found impossible.

He then split the bundle and showed how each individual stick could easily be broken. “United you are strong; quarrelling and separated and you are weak,” he said.

This would work and apply to Husbands and Wive, A Church, friends, corporations, etc.
