Can You Spare A Minute Or Two 11/5?

When you thought I wasn’t looking,  I saw you hang my first painting on the refrigerator and I wanted to paint another one.

When you thought I wasn’t looking I saw you feed a stray cat, and I thought it was good to be kind to animals.

When you thought I wasn’t looking I saw you make my favorite cake just for me, and I understood that little special things.

When you thought I wasn’t looking, I heard you say a prayer and I believed that is a  God that I could always talk to.

You thought I wasn’t looking about you kiss me good night, and I felt loved.

When you thought I wasn’t looking I saw  tears come from your eyes and I learned sometimes things hurt but it’s all right to cry.

When you thought I wasn’t looking, I saw that you cared I wanted to be everything I could be!

When you thought I wasn’t looking, I wanted to say thanks for all the things I saw when you thought I wasn’t looking!

Overcome Anger Before It Overcomes You

Anger is a powerful emotion — one that can either drive us to positive change or destroy what we value most. It often begins as a small spark — a word, a look, a disappointment — but if we don’t control it, that spark can turn into a wildfire. The truth is, anger is not the problem; it’s what we do with it that determines the outcome.

In Proverbs 16:32, the Bible says, “He that is slow to anger is better than the mighty; and he that ruleth his spirit than he that taketh a city.” That means controlling your temper is a greater victory than conquering a city — because self-control is one of the hardest battles you’ll ever fight.

When we let anger guide our actions, we often say or do things we can’t take back. Bridges get burned. Relationships are damaged. Peace of mind slips away. But when we take a breath, step back, and respond instead of react, we reclaim our power.

Anger can be like a storm — intense, loud, and frightening. Yet, just as storms pass, so can our anger if we let it. We don’t have to let temporary emotions cause permanent damage. Instead, we can choose patience, understanding, and forgiveness.

So today, if you feel anger rising, pause. Ask yourself: Will this matter tomorrow? Will it matter next week? If not, let it go. Life is too short to spend in bitterness. Choose peace over pride and calm over chaos. You’ll find that real strength isn’t in getting even — it’s in getting better.

Quote of the Day:

“Holding onto anger is like drinking poison and expecting the other person to die.” — Buddha

Clean Joke:

Why did the man put his anger in the freezer?

Because he wanted to chill out! 😄

Final Thought:

Don’t let anger write your story. Let grace, patience, and love hold the pen.

You don’t need to aspire to be happy or even to “not” be sad. Just take a moment and actively reflect on how you’re feeling today. Be good to yourself, but be honest. You can recognize that you feel lonely or sad. That is a step towards feeling better.

11/4 Can You Spare A Minute Or So?

11/4–One afternoon, a fox was walking through the forest and spotted a bunch of grapes hanging from a lofty branch.

‘Just the thing to quench my thirst,’ he thought.

Taking a couple of steps back, the fox jumped and just missed the hanging grapes.

The fox tried again but still failed to reach them.

Finally, giving up, the fox turned his nose up and said, ‘They’re probably sour anyway,’ and walked away.”

The Strength Of Being Humble

Humbleness is often misunderstood as weakness—but in truth, it’s one of the greatest strengths a person can possess. The humble heart isn’t lowly; it’s grounded. It doesn’t boast, yet it shines with quiet confidence. A humble person doesn’t think less of themselves—they simply think of themselves less.

Pride shouts for attention; humility whispers with grace. When you’re humble, you’re open to learning, growing, and listening. You don’t have to be the loudest in the room to make an impact. The most powerful influence often comes from a gentle spirit that leads by example.

🌾 A Thought to Remember

“Before honor is humility.” — Proverbs 15:33

When you live with humbleness, you don’t need to chase recognition—God will exalt you in due time. True greatness is found not in lifting ourselves above others, but in lifting others up.

💭 A Short Story

A young man once visited a wise mentor, boasting about all he had learned. The mentor silently poured him a cup of tea until it overflowed. Startled, the young man cried out, “Stop! The cup is full!” The mentor smiled and said, “You are like this cup—so full of yourself that nothing new can enter. Empty yourself, and you will learn.”

🙌 Reflection

Humility allows room for wisdom, kindness, and growth. It reminds us that we are all learning, all imperfect, and all valuable in God’s eyes.

Today, walk humbly. Speak gently. Serve willingly. The humble heart shines brighter than pride ever could.

You Can’t Afford To Be Offended If You Need Anything From God

Luke 7/19-23. And John calling unto him two of his disciples sent them to Jesus, saying, Art thou he that should come? or look we for another? When the men were come unto him, they said, John Baptist hath sent us unto thee, saying, Art thou he that should come? or look we for another? And in that same hour he cured many of their infirmities and plagues, and of evil spirits; and unto many that were blind he gave sight. Then Jesus answering said unto them, Go your way, and tell John what things ye have seen and heard; how that the blind see, the lame walk, the lepers are cleansed, the deaf hear, the dead are raised, to the poor the gospel is preached. And blessed is he, whosoever shall not be offended in me.

People say I’m not happy with my job. They say 87% of the people go to job that they hate.

We have the dubious distinction in this country that on Monday morning between 6 an 9AM the heart attack rate increases over 35%!! People going to jobs that they hate. Their hearts tell them didn’t I tell you I didn’t want to go and they attack them?I can imagine that some of y’all don’t want to go to work next Monday.

People all they do is moan and groan. I’m not making enough money, I’m unhappy with my job! So, the thing about it is this…. all some people do is moan and groan.

I heard a story about some men on a porch. A man was walking by and heard the dog howling and whining. He asked the men why the dog was whining. They said he was laying on a nail. The man asked them why the dog didn’t get off the nail. He said because it wasn’t hurting enough.

I heard someone say that God gave us Ten Commandments but if He has given an eleventh it would have been “Thou Shall Not

And Lot lifted up his eyes, and beheld all the plain of Jordan, that it was well watered every where, before the Lord destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah, even as the garden of the Lord, like the land of Egypt, as thou comest unto Zoar. Then Lot chose him all the plain of Jordan; and Lot journeyed east: and they separated themselves the one from the other. Abram dwelled in the land of Canaan, and Lot dwelled in the cities of the plain, and pitched his tent toward Sodom. But the men of Sodom were wicked and sinners before the Lord exceedingly.

Give God Such As You Have

Acts 3:1-8. Now Peter and John went up together into the temple at the hour of prayer, being the ninth hour. And a certain man lame from his mother’s womb was carried, whom they laid daily at the gate of the temple which is called Beautiful, to ask alms of them that entered into the temple; Who seeing Peter and John about to go into the temple asked an alms. And Peter, fastening his eyes upon him with John, said, Look on us. And he gave heed unto them, expecting to receive something of them. Then Peter said, Silver and gold have I none; but such as I have give I thee: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth rise up and walk. And he took him by the right hand, and lifted him up: and immediately his feet and ankle bones received strength. And he leaping up stood, and walked, and entered with them into the temple, walking, and leaping, and praising God.

I’m just a plow hand from Arkansas, but I have learned how to hold a team together. How to lift some men up, how to calm down others, until finally they’ve got one heartbeat together, a team.

There’s just three things I’d ever say: If anything goes bad, I did it. If anything goes semi-good, then we did it. If anything goes real good, then you did it. That’s all it takes to get people to win football games for you.

Bear Bryant.

There is no limit to what a man can do or where he can go, if he doesn’t care who gets the credit.
