There are times in life when you may wonder, “How much longer can I keep going?”
You’ve tried. You’ve prayed. You’ve worked. You’ve waited. And sometimes, despite everything you have done, it seems like you haven’t made much progress.
But remember this:
You don’t have to finish the whole journey today. You just need to take one more step.
A mountain isn’t climbed in one giant leap. It is climbed one step at a time. And sometimes the most important step is the one you take when you feel like quitting.
You may be tired, but take one more step.
You may be discouraged, but take one more step.
You may not understand what God is doing, but take one more step.
You may have experienced setbacks that you never expected, but don’t confuse a setback with the end of your story.
The Bible says in Galatians 6:9:
“And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.”
Notice those last three words: “if we faint not.”
Sometimes victory doesn’t belong to the person who is the strongest, fastest, or most talented. Sometimes it belongs to the person who simply refuses to quit.
Maybe September hasn’t gone exactly as you planned. Maybe this year hasn’t gone as you expected. You may have faced sickness, disappointment, loss, financial problems, family concerns, or circumstances completely beyond your control.
But you are still here.
And as long as God gives you another day, there is still another step you can take.
Don’t spend all your strength worrying about how far you still have to go. Look back for a moment and remember how far God has already brought you.
You survived days you thought would overwhelm you.
You made it through situations you thought you couldn’t handle.
You kept going when you didn’t know how things were going to work out.
And the same God who brought you this far is still with you today.
So on this September 21, make yourself a promise:
I will not quit because the road is difficult. I will not surrender because progress is slow. I will not allow yesterday’s disappointment to steal today’s opportunity. With God’s help, I’m going to take one more step.
You may not be where you want to be yet.
But thank God, you’re still moving!
Thought for Today
You don’t have to see the entire road ahead. Trust God, keep your faith, and take one more step. Sometimes that next step is the one that changes everything.
