Are You A Help, Or Are You A Hinderance?

Are you a help today or are you one that hinders. You will either do one or the other to your Church, friends, and family.

I hear people say all the time I’m not a help but I’m not a hindrance.

Oh, yes you are! If you are not a help then you are a hindrance! You cannot ride the fence you will fall off on one side or the other. You will fall to the help side or to the side that hinders.

I made the statement once that I wanted to leave the walks of this life the day I started hindering. As soon as I could, I told them I wanted to make a correction to that statement. I told them that I did not want to leave the day I started hindering but instead I wanted to leave the day before.

There are too many things that a person can do to help others that there should be no reason to ever think about hindering someone else.

The Story About The Very Cautious Man

Opportunities Missed

There was a very cautious man

Who never laughed or played;

He never risked, he never tried,

He never sang or prayed.

And when he one day passed away

His insurance was denied;

For since he never really lived,

They claimed he never died!

The richest place in the world is the cemetery. It is richer than Fort Knox! There are apologies never made, Love never expressed,  songs never sung, and sermons never preached. Don’t die with your song still within you!!!

I’m not afraid of dying… only to die before I’ve ever lived!

Story:

4/29–A Creative Housekeeper Ritz-Carlton hotel received a letter from a customer who stayed in New York with his family, wife and daughter. His letter was about the behavior of the housekeeper, which astonished him. Having spent their day sight-seeing around the city, the family returned to their room. There, Anna, their daughter, complained that she couldn’t find her teddy bear. They searched and found the teddy bear hidden in a cupboard, with a chocolate bar clasped in its paws. The next day, the teddy bear was missing again. The girl found it under her bed, next to another chocolate bar. Each day of their stay, the family would go out touring and the girl could not wait to return to their room to discover the new hiding place of the teddy bear, a game with the housekeeping lady that the family never actually met. As the man wrote in his letter, “That was the best part of our daughter’s stay in your hotel!

4/28–Peace Of Mind

Story:

4/28–The Son’s Letter A young man who was in prison for a crime he had not committed, received a letter from his father who lived on a farm. “Son, this year I’m unable to plant anything in the fields because my strength has left me and I can’t dig the ground. I know if you were here, you would have helped me.” The son sent his father the following letter: “You idiot, dad, do not dig the land, haven’t I told you that I have hidden the guns in different places on the ground?” Of course the prison manager gave the letter to the police. Next day, the ground was dug by policemen, who searched for guns everywhere. But they found nothing. So the son wrote again: Dad, now the ground has been dug up, you can plant your vegetables. I did the best I could do from here. I love you! So, where there’s a will, there is always a way even in cases when it seems impossible to help!”

Scripture:

Galatians 6:7-8

Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap. For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting.

Dream Big, Don’t Ever Give Up

Father to his son: don’t ever let anybody tell you that you can’t do something…. not even me.

If you have a dream…. you having fun e to protect it! When people can’t do something themselves .. they want to tell you that you can’t do it. If you want something go get it, period.

Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate but that we are powerful beyond. measure! Is our light not our darkness is that for most frightens us. You’re playing small does not serve the

world there is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that people won’t feel insecure around you.

We were all meant to shine as children do. It’s not distant some of us it’s in everyone. As we unconsciously let our own light shine we give others permission to do the same as we are liberated from our own fear. Our presence automatically liberates others. In this lifetime, you don’t have to prove anything to nobody except yourself!! You need to keep negotiating with your mind to find more strength…. but you keep going.

Dream big, don’t ever give up. Help other people achieve success and you will be successful! The biggest seller is cookbooks and the second is diet books –how not to eat what you’ve just learned how to cook.

4/27–Redeem The Time

Story:

Four Monks on the Road There was a monk named Sen, who was known for his exceptional leadership. Three monks decided to visit the monastery where Sen lived to learn from him and they started out on their journey. Every day they would begin to argue over who should do certain chores. On the fourth day, they met another monk who was also going in their direction. The monk joined the group. Now, this monk never complained about doing chores. Every time the other monks fought about which chore to do, this monk would volunteer to do the chore himself. On the tenth day of their journey, the other monks, inspired by his attitude, began to offer each other help with the chores. Finally, the group arrived at the monastery. The three men asked to meet Brother Sen. The monk at the entrance laughed. “Brothers, is this some kind of joke? Brother Sen is among you!” And he pointed to the fourth man of their group.”

Scripture:

Ephesians 5:15-16

4/27–A company hired a new CEO. This new boss was determined to rid the company of all slackers. While taking a tour around the facilities, the CEO noticed a guy leaning on a wall. The room was full of workers and he thought that this was his chance to show everyone he meant business! The CEO walked up the man and asked, “And how much money do you make?” A bit surprised, the young man looked at him and replied, “I make $ 700 a week. Why do you ask?” The CEO took out some cash and handed the man $ 700 in cash and then screamed to him, “Here! This is your last pay, now get out because you are fired!” That was his first firing and he felt pretty good about it! He looked around and asked the workers, “Does anybody know what that slacker did here?” With a grin, one of the workers muttered, “He’s the pizza delivery guy, Sir.”
