4/23—Start Your Day Off Right Series

Quote:

Every day is a second chance

Story:

A King stood high above his subjects on a balcony. I need a kidney and I wonder if any of you below would be willing to give me one of yours? I know it is asking a lot and would be a great sacrifice! A loud cry went up from the majority crying loudly let it be me, please let it be me!!

The King turned to his main aide and asked how can I choose among them since so many want to volunteer? There was a feather near his feet and he got an idea! He told his subjects I know what I’ll do, I’ll drop this feather and whoever it lands on will get the honor of donating me a kidney.

As the feather came slowly descending a swooshing sound could be heard as the subjects started blowing the feather. This is the way of a lot of people that tell God let me, let me God. But when God says ok go ahead they start trying to shift the load off them and onto someone else! They start to blow the feather away from themselves.

Scripture:

Exodus 4:10-12

And Moses said unto the LORD, O my Lord, I am not eloquent, neither heretofore, nor since thou hast spoken unto thy servant: but I am slow of speech, and of a slow tongue. And the LORD said unto him, Who hath made man’s mouth? or who maketh the dumb, or deaf, or the seeing, or the blind? have not I the LORD? Now therefore go, and I will be with thy mouth, and teach thee what thou shalt say.

Humor:

4/23–Mom why do we have these big humps on our backs the baby camel asked his mother.

They store fat so we can survive without water or food during long desert trips the mother camel replied.

Why do we have such long eyelashes the baby camel asked next. To help protect our eyes from the dusty desert winds.

Why do we have such odd looking feet?

They are for helping us walk across the hot desert sand.

The baby camel contemplated everything his mother had told him then he said, if we have all these things for living in the desert why do we live in a zoo?

Don’t Forget That You Are The Director Of Your Life

Almost everyone was born with the same things: A Brain, Two Eyes, Two Ears, etc. You can be whatever you set that brain ( your mind) you came with the desire to .

If a caterpillar can turn into a butterfly, you can be transformed into something much better than you start with.

You have to be willing to let somebody help you change. You have to be open and you’ve got to give someone permission to push it then not be offended

A tree will never be anything but a tree. A pine tree will never turn into an oak tree.

A dog will never be anything but a dog. A poodle dog will never turn into a German Shepherd. But you have the ability to change and to become.

I would try to change but I’m 50 years old, and it will probably take five years.

How old will you be in five years if you don’t change. Won’t you still be 55?

It’s up to you. You are the director of your life and no one can do it for you or hold you back, but you!

Scripture:

2 Corinthians 10:12

For we dare not make ourselves of the number, or compare ourselves with some that commend themselves: but they measuring themselves by themselves, and comparing themselves among themselves, are not wise.

What ever we plant in our subconscious mind and nourish with repetition and emotion will one day become a reality!

Earl Nightingale

Story:

4/21–Tell Jesus about your problems, but also tell your problems about Jesus–

It has always been rough when meeting up with the “bully”. Satan is the bully of all bullies.

As the old American Express commercial used to say “Don’t Leave home without it”…..meaning American Express. I say, instead, don’t leave home without Him, Jesus!

Satan is not afraid of you, but he backs up and trembles at the name of Jesus. Remind the bully, and your problems, that you know Jesus, and that He checks in on you very often. He would not take kindly to anyone roughing you up.

Vengeance is mine, saith the Lord! I have read and heard about bullying being a major problem at schools. That is not the only place where it is happening. So, let Jesus give you a hand with the bully.

Scripture:

Proverbs 16:7

When a man’s ways please the LORD,
he maketh even his enemies to be at peace with him.

The Story Of The Mouse Who Saved The Lion

Once when a Lion was asleep a little Mouse began running up and down upon him; this soon wakened the Lion, who placed his huge paw upon him, and opened his big jaws to swallow him.

Pardon, O King,” cried the little Mouse: “forgive me this time, I shall never forget it: who knows but what I may be able to do you a turn some of these days?” The Lion was so tickled at the idea of the Mouse being able to help him, that he lifted up his paw and let him go.

Some time after the Lion was caught in a trap, and the hunters who desired to carry him alive to the King, tied him to a tree while they went in search of a waggon to carry him on.

Just then the little Mouse happened to pass by, and seeing the sad plight in which the Lion was, went up to him and soon gnawed away the ropes that bound the King of the Beasts. “Was I not right?” said the little Mouse. Little friends may prove great friends.

Deliver thyself as a roe from the hand of the hunter,

Humor:

A sales-woman is driving home in the rain when she sees a little old lady walking by the roadside, heavily laden with shopping. Being a kindly soul, the sales-woman stops the car and invites the old lady to climb in. During their small talk, the old lady glances surreptitiously at a brown paper bag on the front seat between them. “If you are wondering what’s in the bag,” offers the sales-woman, “It’s a bottle of wine. I got it for my husband.” The little old lady is silent for a while, nods several times, and says …….. “Good trade.”
